Exactly what happened to me with the Droid 2 Global. Of course, I bought mine pre-owned because it was a little cheaper. I then went through 4 that all had issues, only to get one that still has problems. They sell those and obviously don’t care that their customers are getting a piece of garbage. Real nice.

I am really hoping they get another Nexus. Android is getting better all the time and buying some ordinary Android phone that won’t be supported for more than a few months just isn’t an option I’d consider.

Of course Verizon will get the Nexus(es). It would severely hurt both Verizon and Google if they didn’t.

It would hurt Verizon because lots of people would switch over to other carriers to get a Nexus device.
And it would hurt Google because Verizon is the biggest US carrier and there would be far less people buying Nexus phones.

I’m just saying HTC has had a crappy history with LTE phones and battery life FROM DAY ONE. You didn’t mention the One X – is that phone too old to be used in comparison too?

Jelly Bean is nice and a huge improvement over ICS. But Google seriously just needs to make it feel more responsive. With an iPhone, when I make some kind of motion on the screen, the responses are INSTANT. I don’t feel this with Android.

I use about 6.5gb data a month and my wife uses about the same…~10-12GB data a month on family plan. i am willing to pay outright for a new phone!

If you’re a standard consumer customer (and by standard, I mean a consumer rather than, say, a government agency) then you can only keep unlimited by buying outright, which is expensive but it depends how much data you use!

I would take the Note 2 over the dIx because I have a feeling HTC made another LTE phone that doesn’t have enough juice to get through the day (think Thunderbolt and One X, though some people are fine with the One X).

working for vzw, do you have any info on whether the unlimited will stay for those grandfathered in? Im thinking of buying phones off contract to keep unlimited data…whats the rumors from the inside??

Whilst I personally love the Nexus, and the community here embraces it, the market as a whole did not. I work for Verizon and have moved between internal channels so I’ve actually heard this from several company perspectives. The comments have all been that most users who got it were confused by it and returned it , found it hard to use or had technical issues with it. From the understanding I had, Verizon was not too pleased with he reception the public gave this phone. That makes me wonder if we will get another this year. I hope so, but I don’t know.

Hmm.. not sure I agree with your statement that’s HSPA+ is better than LTE, but to each disgruntled ex-Verizon customer their own, I suppose. Over saturated as you say it might be, I think Verizon does a fine job!
