I hope you didn’t order that DX2 because one of their “sales” reps said it would be getting the upgrade soon?! Those were the same people that said netflix wouls run on the Droids because it had Flash. You see how well that worked

Verizon sucks. At one time they were the best. Sprint is making a come-back. Wait till verizon stops their unlimited data this summer! Why do you think they had all those problems get netflix to run on android phones? Verizon didn’t want that service running on their network. They want you to use the “unremovable” block buster app and get their cut. Their 3G service isn’t the best and I’m sure the 4G will suck too. Sprint’s price is right and their service is getting better. Oh Yeah, their phones are so much better. Think about it, how often are you getting full speed (3G)? Verizon is known for great calls, not data. No updates is the last straw for me. F them

ordered my dx2 yesterday.. confirmed it is supposed to be delivered today (4/20). looks like it will have 2.2 on it, but 2.3 out soon.
its a ‘dx’ on sterioids from what I read, dual core cpu, better screen, and hdmi can ‘mirror’ to your display (so you can see what buttons to press). oh,, and 30fps video..!

I agree, if there’s one thing I’ve learned from having every DROID phone since day one is Verizon will not /cannot release a single Android update correctly. I can’t believe how many times I’ve gotten my hope’s up for an update only to have Verizon screw it up one way or another. Lesson learned ether wait forever for the newest update and get pissed off that Verizon is taking forever. Or just ROOT!

I did an sbf back to Froyo from the Liberty GB because I was expecting an OTA for GB so I could use Netflix! Liberty put their nightlies on hold until the OTA so looks like I have some more work to do!

This is all getting a little nauseating and I am about to say ‘screw you Verizon…’
If I manually install Build 4.5.588, will I in any way be able to roll-back to get the ‘official’ build OTA? I will this just cancel all of that out and screw me?

From what I’ve read, seems like Xperia Play is going to have some custom SE apps on it- such as the camera app, thereby making it not-quite-stock. Let’s see how that plays out with ‘promised’ updates…

My contract with VZW ends in July and I have to say that after the hell I’ve been through with their customer service recently, hearing about the hell others have been through with their customer service AND the absolutely sh*tty line-up of phones, I’m going to be moving my business to Sprint. After ten years of never missing a bill payment on my end, it took VZW almost TWO months to credit me for an overage on their end. An overage they would never have notified me of, nor credited me for had I not noticed and made about seven calls over a two month period to get it straightened out. Let’s ignore the lies from customer service and the failed promises to call me back on certain specified dates. I mean, really VZW?!
That’s what scares me most about a Twin Bell future. They’re going to rob us blind…
