You can enable tablet UI in AOKP Myself I’ve always kept the notification bar hidden while on my home screens, on everything else it’s kind of necessary to have it there.

Hey man, just an update. Waited a bit until the dev of Shiny to update the ROM with 4.2.2, then on the 13th, he finally updated it, so last night I finally flashed Shiny! And so far, it’s freakin’ BRILLIANT, fast, smooth and shiny! It’s a great ROM! Even installed a few MODs along with it. haha.

Glad ya guys chimed in about it as I wasn’t sure what ROM would be great or what, but this one seems to be the best stock ROM yet! Might even be better than BB…possibly. lol

Can someone please post a full flashing ROM review/guide. Don’t get me wrong, I know how to flash roms, it’s just it involves backing up my rom, creating a TiBackup, flashing, then reinstalling my TiBackup. Is this “the” way to do it or are there any other quicker ways to flash? Also, a guide on what to reinstall from TiBackup would be wonderful!

Either one. I have done both. The boot loader way works just fine. Just don’t use ROM manager or you will be pulling hairs for a few hours.

Oh, really?! Yeah, I was actually looking through the Shiny ROM installation instructions and noticed that he wasn’t telling users to boot into CWRT directly from ROM Manager, but to boot into the bootloader by switching the phone off, then holding both volume/power buttons at the same time. Then install the ROM from there. That’s one of the instructions.

And then he listed out Fastboot method instructions on installing the ROM. So the Fastboot method is the best way to install 4.2 ROMs, correct?

No, I’m just a guy who likes the Sourcery ROM. I tried others but I keep coming back to it. I had it on my OG droid before it died. There themes are pretty cool. I keep mine pretty basic. Check it out for yourself. Variety is the spice of life!

Shiny is the closest. You can even flash it no root if you want to be stock and un-rooted. Not sure why the hell you would not want root, but I am sure there are some folks that might.

Yes, but the ROM I am running he figured out what was causing the issue and fixed it a week later. I am running shiny 2/3.

I would also recommend flashing from fast boot and not from the ROM manager app. Things seem to get wonky when flashing 4.2 from the ROM manager.
