Facebook and Google+ have each introduced new features on their own which the other has copied. Has Google generally done better with those features than Facebook? Yes. Events are much better than on Facebook, Google+ had better privacy and sharing settings initially, photo editing is superior, etc. You’re right about those things, but those kinds of improvements over Facebook don’t make it stand out enough. For Google+ to succeed I think it either needs to really change the game in a dramatic way (or Facebook to really screw their users) or Google+ should have been centered on a single social sharing feature like Instagram is (or Twitter was initially). People made the migration from MySpace to Facebook because Facebook was about what they were doing now, not who they were. It was a huge change. It would take a monumental change like that from Google to initiate a change, but it would still be insanely difficult.

My mistake. I was at work and found out our tech dept. has blocked certain social pages on our network. I guess it’s their right where they want to restrict us. I’m at home and Google+ is right there. Thanks guys.

Closed ecosystem? I have two main issues with the iPhone. iOS never changes. It has looked the same since day one. Updates only bring features that Android has had for years. My main issue is the crazy idea that the device has to be made to be easily one-handed. Mobile devices are no longer primarily phones. The phone app on my device is my least used one. My mobile device is my primary computing device. The iPhone can not serve that purpose. I tried the iPhone 5. I couldn’t do half of what I could on my Android phones. Plus, the screen is tiny. I had the Gnex for a year. Just got the Note II. This device does more than any iPhone ever will. It fits in my pockets, with room to spare. This is a true mobile computing experience. The iPhone, is just a toy.

G+’s photography suite is far more powerful than FB’s. Hangouts and Events before FB had Skype and their Events clone, photosphere, communities, controlled stream (prior to FB giving more control over their newsfeed), etc.

If you use G+ like FB, you’ve failed at the innernetz.

I sometimes just wish Verizon would ax unlimited data when your contract ends! It would make my decision about whether to stay and buy unsubed or try another carrier much easier!

Yep, and niche features would be “Circles” and Instant Upload, FB ‘now’ has instant upload I believe.
