If Asus can use the dock to add additional CPU power and develop a transformer tablet powerful enough to replace notebooks then I’ll be absolutely sold (and probably millions of others). They are heading into the right direction as far as innovation is concerned which is why we’re excited about this. Overall, the TF700 is a nice tablet though there are a few cons mentioned in http://www.squidoo.com/asus-tf700t

thanks for telling me this, i honestly had no clue that this was a problem! But at the same time it seems like an easy fix (silicon pads on the dock)! My main thing is that there just isn’t any other android tablet and even the iPad, doesn’t offer this kind of performance and not to mention the dock accessory with an SD card slot, usb slot, full keyboard, trackpad, and charge/sync port.

I just ordered one and it has the model number listed as TF700T-B1-GR which is the Infinity, so I don’t know what you are talking about?

Assuming you mean OFFICEdepot, what is the “standard” model that “has been out for some time” please? Even though the site doesn’t say “Infinity”, the specs seem to match, EXCEPT that now I notice that it describes a “Tegra® 3 T30S” processor rather than the T33. This is cause for concern, since I ordered one last night with delivery confirmed for the 19th, after having an agent check their actual stock. Enlightenment please!!!

Supposedly, the hinge in some way puts pressure on certain parts of the screen when it is closed down. It apparently creates a bunch of tiny microfractures in the glass that are invisible to the naked eye until abruptly it creates a large fracture that you notice when you wake up one morning. It was mostly happening to people with the TF201, as the TF300 and TF700 haven’t really been out long enough for there to be any cases of it happening. Only time will tell. I’ve been fairly disappointed in Asus’s quality control with their tablets the past 6 months.

That is not the Infinity on the HomeDepot site. That is the standard TF700T. There are two models. The one posted has been out for some time. The Infinity is scheduled for release tomorrow, but who knows.

I have one and love it as well but at least every prime had a bad GPS (which Asus did fix) but I had 2 and the first had a screen problem and unknown serial. The second had terrible WiFi so I ended up keeping the first after an RMA. Now I can’t unlock because of something g Asus did with fixing my unknown serial incident. I do hope the Infinity is great but I would wait before buying because it is basically a rehash of the prime and they are still testing firmware constantly to get rid of bugs
