I think they did this to shut us up for a while. I didnt get anything past, welcome to the tester group thing, I just really hope that the camera issues get fixed.

It’d be nice if the Motorola Support Forums supported multiple phones in a profile. Picking between listing my Droid 3 and my Droid Bionic… it was an easy choice. So I won’t see this update till it OTAs.

This sucks I cant get the update on my rooted D3 because when I go to unroot my phone the stupid thing says I dont have a backup to revert to… Hmmm

Motorola just released a pretty massive update for the original Droid X. That phone is what, two years old at this point? So I wouldn’t say its “glaringly obvious” that Moto would drop support for the Droid 3 after 7 or 8 months on the market…

Is it not glaring obvious, with the last known Moto phone getting ICS targeted for the END of 2012 that the D3 will never ever see ICS? I give you credit for optimism, but by the time Moto would even *think* about ICS for the D3, it will be time to buy a new phone. And guess what fans, its not gonna be a Moto phone for me unless its the Nexus. If it doesn’t say Nexus on it, send it back!

Technically speaking, in the context he uses, the statement on ICS isn’t incorrect. This update is not ICS, especially given the evidence that Verizon has not listed the device on their ICS rollout at this time.

If your opining that the prior article insinuates that it isn’t by comments made there, well, that’s another matter.

Its funny because Verizon never said the Droid 3 and X2 weren’t getting ICS. It just wasn’t on the list, much like it’s still in the “Planning and Development” on Motorolas website. Furthermore, the Verizon site said they would update the list as they hear more from manufacturers.

No where does it say that the Droid 3 and X2 won’t get ICS. Does whoever wrote that article know how to read and use context properly?
