Thursday Poll: Favorite Android Keyboard is?

There are so many keyboards these days that it has almost become a chore to keep up with them.  I seem to find myself switching on a weekly basis, falling in love for a couple of days with one, and then reverting back to or finding a new option shortly after.  My current active keyboard of choice is GO Keyboard, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have the itch to jump back to FlexT9 or Swiftkey X.  A lot of these keyboards are just so good in their own right, however, I can never decide which is my go to.  What about you?  Favorite keyboard right now is…?  Or better yet, which keyboard can you not live without?

which keyboard app is the best & doesnt eat up any ram?

I cant get away from swype. I got swiftkey when in was the app of the day from amazon and never used it. Swype was a little annoying at first, but once I got used to it, I was sold. The newest update made the interface much much better.

flext9 has much better swyping than swype, and the stock android keyboard has the most responsiveness and the best autocorrect out of all of them

I really love A.I. Type as it has the best text predictor I’ve seen on any Android keyboard, but I also think Swype is great and can help you type really fast once you get the hang of it. The best keyboard of all would have to be any external bluetooth keyboard though :) You can check out my reviews over at http://androidkeyboard.org

Smart Keyboard Pro is AWESOME for one simple reason.

When you make a mistake 3 words back and don’t realize it right away, you can just tap the word and the suggestions pop up, tap the right one and it corrects it. This simple feature is absent from all other keyboards I’ve tried and makes ALL the difference for me.

I’m so happy with this keyboard that I will not even try another unless I know it has this feature.

A.I.type on the move. IT WILL BE NUMBER 1

I can’t believe you didn’t mention ShapeWriter! It’s the absolute best keyboard for a smart phone, and the absolute best slide keyboard ever made. It’s just a shame they were bought out, and the company who bought them out never did shit to release a new version.

Although the original company that made ShapeWriter did release a new slide keyboard called Flex T9, in my opinion, it just didn’t compare to the original.

If anyone wants a copy of the last version of ShapeWriter to be released, reply with to this post with an email address, and I’ll do my best to send you a Dropbox link so you can download it. Just give me a little time because I’m real busy working on a video game, that I’m trying to release soon.

A.I.type just came out with a new version, and its really good at auto-correction and spelling correction. It has a lot of customizations that I really like, like really nice choices of skins. Fast and powerful. It will be #1 pretty soon.

Tried almost all of them and hate them all :(

I like to Swype, but the built-in Swype was not so great at prediction, especially special characters.  I rank them:

    Swiftkey, Swype, Flex T9, TouchPal

Thumb keyboard for me. The virtual cursor keys come in handy for me often. So many customizations, I definately recommend reading the owners manual! Worth the investment.

Keypurr on the OG Droid is super fast and uses less than 10MB.

I have used almost every keyboard available, and nothing tops smart keyboard pro! Since I didn’t see anyone mention it, I have to represent for smart keyboard! You can customize it anyway imaginable and it works flawlessly without any lag. Give the free version a try you wont look back.

With the more recent changes in swype – I got hooked there again.  I like Flex T9 and Swift key, but Swype still rules.

I’ve stuck with Swype since early beta and I’ve always found myself returning to it after testing others

Thanks so much for giving everyone remarkably memorable possiblity to read in detail from this web site. It really is very cool and also packed with a good time for me and my office fellow workers to search your website really thrice in 7 days to read the latest issues you have got. And of course, I am always motivated for the surprising things served by you. Some 4 areas on this page are in reality the most efficient I’ve ever had.

I use Swiftkey, but what I really want is a T9 keyboard that behaves exactly like the 12 key pad on my old Nokai S60 devices.  I’ve never come close to the speed I had with that.  No need to look, no less.

A real keyboard! Not a virtual one!

  • Toasty

    wheres touchpal?

  • tjmonkey15

Thumb Keyboard.  It has the best options from the other keyboards I used to like (SwiftKey, Better Keyboard, HTC Stock) combined.  I also use it on my Asus Transformer, which makes typing much easier than using the stock keyboard on the Asus.
