Hello, Xoom Folks. I updated my “WIFI only” Motorola Xoom to 3.2 and am using a Micro SD card
(32GB) in the “now” functioning slot. Moreover, I tested file
transferring via a SD card adapter, USB cable and WIFI (using a Cisco
Wireless Router) and the performance is off the charts. Honeycomb recognizes the Micro SD disk with no issues.
As part of my data flow test, I transferred a 1080p HD movie (MP4) and
several hundred songs (MP3) onto the mounted disk. All media plays
perfectly. When Motorola says it’s coming, once they build it, it will come! Note to file: The Class 6, 32GB Kingston Micro SD disk is from Taiwan.

I have a Xoom with 3G/4G capability, but I don’t have a contract for their use. Does this categorize me as having a wi-fi only Xoom?

I received the 3.2 update and can confirm that there is NO MicroSD support!

If the customer buys it an is happy then i really don’t see how its a moronic idea. the android platofrm is a work in progress, and as i said when you’re an early adopter you acknowledge that there are kinks/features to be worked on. i got the wifi only so the 4g not coming standard was moot fort me, and it had plenty of internal storage to hold off on using an sdcard for a little while.

this customer is not a moron, he knows exactly what he got for his money and he’s been very happy with the product.
