Verizon will penalized you for 25-30 days….I rented Tangle the movie while in vacation for the kids, downloaded into my computer (it took 32 hours- over 3 days while computer was on), i do not use internet that often but pay for it monthly and they slow me down a lots…..called and the guy at verizon said they DO intentionally slow you down for the next 20-30 days and are told to tell the customers that the whole network is slow, so they can’t do a thing. Busted verizon…Unlimited is Unlimited… and come on…a kid’s movie….from a internet card used in a computer (not even a phone)…

nsa, patriot act 1,2, and 3. to obtain a permit to protest with a party of 50 people or more. once the permit is obtained. one cannot voice their opinions in front said establishment.

you want proof. it happened at the g20 in pittsburgh. when junior bush came to nyc for the republican convention…

yeah. they need to stress this to the new customer. i want to see data info of what constitutes high use.

the color blue comes in many shades.

if im driving for 10 hours and using pandora and google gps would that be considered a power user???

vzn needs toset paramaters on this. i can easily see a class action lawsuit in the future.

Things go to s*** because there are so many who abuse the system and make things worse for everyone else. As a result, the company (Verizon) takes measures (policy changes) to minimize said abuse. If the data hogs ever manage to exercise a little control, then maybe we can ALL enjoy the network the way it was meant to be enjoyed.

Remember, we are the minority. These policy changes are meant to cater to the majority of their users (current and potential).

I suppose I better stop watching 17.3 gigs of HQ videos on youtube then eyy? Why must everything go to sh*t the better things get? I mean come on, they throw all this great content at us but then tell us not to enjoy it? It’s like why must we throw the word moderation in their to screw everything up for us?

I would love to know just what they consider extraordinary users, just a rough idea would be nice. Sounds like not enough info, but I already hate this idea. The speeds are not what I was used to and now this talk. They keep these changes up I will jump carriers and find a new 1. This is way to many changes for the 1 yr time I have been with verizon

You are not seeing the big picture. There are people out there who abuse the unlimited data plan to the point of making the data usage much more difficult for the the rest. These phones aren’t meant to be used as a replacement for laptops/netbooks/computers and the terms and agreements state as much (with the exception of the Atrix). Hence the change in policy. It’s not fair that only a minority of the users are allowed to experience the full capabilities of the network (usually illegally) at the expense of everyone else.

If the hogs need to be slowed down every once in a while to allow me to fully experience what I pay for, then I’m ok with it.

Not necessarily. It’s better than the tollbooth one down below. Anyways, I agree with him (even though his name is a bit iffy). Just because it’s unlimited (all you can eat) doesn’t mean you should attempt to prove as much. Yes, do what you normally do everyday with your data usage, but if you start abusing it (making every effort to fully milk the unlimited data) by downloading ISO’s or streaming non-stop or 24/7 gaming, then you are hogging and making the network slower fro others to use (you eat all the food and everyone else get’s less than what they pay for). It’s unfair to the majority and thus the reason for this policy change.

Not that I like it, but it is understandable.

The data plan in unlimited, but the more people you get on this connection slow the speed down. It was the same way for their unlimited mobile broadband plan. Eventually they will get rid of the unlimited data on phones and the speeds will increase. I personally like them throttling down peoples connections, but dont we have to get good speeds first??

I use slingbox to listen to tv all day at work on my Droid X (by the way the slingbox app costs $30 to begin with, so that is a hefty investment up front). Last month I used 10.67GB and I didn’t even use the slingbox every week day for the whole billing period. I am concerned as well as others who have posted here about what my usage will be once netflix has a droid app, which I would like to use as much, if not more than slingbox.
