i dont mind it so much. i like the sense lock screen, and i just use nova launcher and ignore most of sense. it honestly doesnt really bother me, and my phone works great. still hate the skin moto has. no desire for the razr. the most improved things for me between my dna and the nexus are better reception and better battery life. and a beautiful screen. Plus, i have an internship for 8 weeks in ireland this summer, and the dna is fully unlocked, so all i need to do is get a prepaid sim card over there. my sister got the galaxy s3 last weekend. she loves it, and i thought it was actually really nice, but i am very glad i went with my choice. but i agree, phones should be stock still. i plan on eventually putting CM10 on my dna when it (hopefully) comes out and when (hopefully) s-off is achieved.

“and they delivered updates even later then Verizon for the Nexus.” Wrong. So very very wrong. The Sprint Galaxy Nexus had 4.1.1 first. About 10 days ago, a build for 4.2.1 was posted on Google’s servers, meaning an OTA update is coming soon to the non-flashaholics. Meanwhile, Verizon Galaxy Nexus owners have no 4.2 to speak of, unless they’re rooted.

Please Mr. Boost Mobile 3g man who finally signed a 2yr contract with sprint .You have never been a Verizon customer nor have you ever owned anything of true value other than your current Galaxy Nexus on Sprint. You have never been a Verizon customer nor have you been able to obtain gainful employment in order to afford anything i have done or purchased in the last three year. Fall back my brother this is for real men in the tech game not little girls wanting to be important. Verizon got kicked to the curb for poor service which many people experience in different areas. Your an Internet clown.

Sprint DEMANDED that Samsung take SIM cards out of the equation and they delivered updates even later then Verizon for the Nexus.

A new ROM won’t change the phone’s design. The Galaxy S looked like a damn iPhone 3GS ! The Nexus S was a completely new and unique design, the Galaxy Nexus has basically the same design, as does the Nexus 4, but I think the Galaxy Nexus looks best of all of them.

Smart of them to do for stand alone updates, but it’s not available for general purchase outside of devices on which it’s pre-installed, correct? Though I would get Tasker over Smart Actions for my Nexus 4 if I wanted an app like that, even were Smart Actions available (don’t misunderstand me; I loved Smart Actions on my RAZR).

Motorola has started this, their Smart Actions app is available on the Play Store, however, it is not uninstallable.

Good point, except for the fact that even when holding the device in landscape, one thumb is usually by the bottom bezel. (especially with larger devices where you hold it from both sides.)

I agree, but getting rid of skins completely probably won’t happen, but if the manufacturers copy Motorola and cut down on the UI “enhancements” and leave it mostly stock with some tweaks, then we could potentially see some awesome new features. (as a way to set them apart instead of relying on skins.)

Software buttons == bad

yes,but this were both 2012 devices which just didnt have the time to get rid of the buttons because the development takes long time.
But i am 100% sure the S4 and Note 3 wont have any physical buttons on the front anymore.And thats exaclty what i am afraid HTC wont do.
Look,Sony,Huawai,Motorola,Nexus and most the other bigger ones finally changed to onscreen buttons,because thats how Google wants it to be.
Be honest,the legacy menu buttons is one of the most silly and ugly things someone can come up with just to compensate one little button.It would even be smarter to use a 4th capactive dedicated menu button instead of the software one.
