I went from an OG Droid, to a DROID3, to a Galaxy Nexus, not rooted and running latest Bugless Beast with Faux latest stable faux kernel. So thanks and gig em. But I’ve seen first hand Moto’s software, then later, their support (or lack thereof) for their software on DROID3. I’m a big as fan of their hardware, especially there radios, but if you think for a split second that their software is anything but a triple bogey, you are the one with growing up to do.

All you’re doing is that second init, bootstrap, or whatever you want to call it. The stock software still gets loaded, then the boot process is hijacked to run your “AOSP” rom. However, the kernel is still moto. From my experience with the Droid X, sure, you can have a stock Rom, but sometimes features won’t work properly, like the camera, etc.. The bottom line is, we shouldn’t have to do all this to get stock. It should just be stock from the start. iOS is a unified experience. Fragmentation and Skins (especially skins) are the thing that plagues android

So you SETTLE for “close to stock”? So by this logic, you are admitting that stock is the most desired experience. So why not just go stock?

oh goody.Motorola is coming out with another droid brick.after months of broken promises,they dont give the bionic owners any ics, just introduce a new phone. Verizon and Motorola both have let us down drastically,with promises promises. a lot of us will not forget,and we will let them both know in the pocketbook.competition is thrilling at this stupid customer service screwup.

There are TONS of roms for moto devices that are built from AOSP source. I’ll say again, you do not need an unlocked bootloader to have a pure aosp ROM..

Yeah but its still a motorola build, and some other of the blur framework remains… I had the droid x, I know all about that. A bare bones stock aosp is still smoother.

Man its 2012, I think they can do way better than a qHD screen. Moto should just make a deal with samsung for their screens, at bulk rates they could get great deals. That would be the only draw back to a MotoNexus imo. But this year samsung might put their quad chip in the nexus, and I don’t see moto using a quad core anytime soon.

Blah, I could really care less. Moto lost me after the bionic, which I to no lovestill currently own. Little to no love, care, or suport has been shown to this device, and its customers, so from here on out, or when i’m eligible for my next upgrade, its Samsung. This experience has really left a fowl taste in my mouth, and its an experience I will not repeat.

just an observation about all the android guys and apple fanboys… apple fanboys love to forgive faults that their fruit phone has even when there’s an obviously design flaw..(i.e. fruit antenna, glass on both sides of phone) and android peeps just love to complain about skins, bootloaders, and other android phones…

now my vote goes to… +1 for android, +1 for razr mini…smaller overall size, same functionality… currently sporting razr maxx… tired of this big ole thing in my pocket…oh and the phone…hahaha

Whoever voted Chase Chick down is higher than a kite. Moto blur phones are some of the laggiest Android devices out there. Their software blows (camera app anyone?) and with all of that “awesome hardware” they still lag like a mofo. When you are forced to go to third party devs for a camera app that doesn’t take 10 seconds to shoot a picture, how can you call Moto’s software great?? Samsung eats Moto’s lunch these days and its not hard to figure out why.

I think the only reason its even being considered mid range is the screen any maybe internal storage options. If the screen looks good, I might take it over the RAZR HD. Not sure that I wanna go from the 4″ on my d3 to 4.3. Definitely not 4.7+
