I hope they get it right. We use several applications to replace Office on our company tablets, but with Excel there is so much you loose…Pivots & Filters are big things…please make them work in android properly.

I seriously hope so… Cloudon has been working for me but it would be nice to not have to put all my files on Drive just so I can properly use Office.

If and ONLY if it has OneNote. The Word/Excel/Powerpoint functionality is easily found in other apps. But OneNote is the only thing keeping me from using a tablet in class. OneNote is just so much better than anything else out there.

Um, I use Excel every day as well. It’s great for some things, but can also be a pain in the arse for others. It has a few formatting functions that I wish GDocs had, but overall, I’m not blindly loyal to either.

As for Word, I don’t use it at all anymore. GDocs is just that much more useful, convenient, simple, and easy to use. And the way it, and all docs, works with GDrive is phenomenal.

BTW, there is an endless amount of functions and scripts in GDocs spreadsheets as well, so you can make it as powerful as you want.

I use Excel everyday, and I’m one of the better people on my team with it. Most people I work with have no concept of how powerful Excel is.

Every substitute I’ve used, from OpenOffice to GoogleDocs falls flat on it’s face in comparison.

If you want to use a spreadsheet to keep your bank balance or keep track of what movies you’ve watched; GoogleDocs is just fine. If you want to get really nasty with the spreadsheets and use custom functions, combinations of vlookups, and solver; there is no substitute in the same league as Excel.

The same goes for Word once you begin getting into the advanced functions beyond basic word processing.

Um….ok? Not really. I find GDocs to be a very capable replacement. Sure, sometimes I need some Excel functions, but I don’t use Word at all anymore, and I don’t miss it.

Also, Office for Android would almost certainly be a very gimped version, probably not even as good as GDocs.

Office substitutes are just that… substitutes.

Nothing compares to the real McCoy, so yes, I would purchase this app. It would be nice if they could fix OneNote to allow handwriting though.

First off LOL in a response to something that isn’t a joke shows your comment isn’t to be taken seriously.

Second you apparently were too trigger happy and missed my comment that’s it’s more about user comfort than it being “better”.

Third people do edit complex worksheets and word files on the go. Citrix and VMware make quite a few bucks off virtualizing these apps for use on iPad and android tablets for this very reason.

I never claimed this would drive anyone anywhere. That was just you trolling.
