Went to a Verizon store today… got to hold a Galaxy Nexus in my hand…
they had a big box of them… unfortunately they told me they aren’t going on sale tomorrow, Verizon has pushed back the release date… bastards…

I hear the Galaxy Nexus is second to none with regard to reception. Seen a few comparisons and was impressed. Very un-samsung of them if true!

Say it isn’t so! I originally bought a Droid2 and LOVED it, but like an idiot I dropped it, cracked the front. Insurance replaced it with a D2G and I HATE IT! Been thru three of them, they keep going wonky on me! I could write novels with the weird s**t this thing does! To add insult to injury, this weekend I was helping my mother paint and I dropped it in my paint tray. Amazingly, after much tedious cleaning, it still seems to function for the most part. But I just kept whispering to myself, “It’s just until Thursday, Jenn, it’s just until Thursday…”

Now I have to wait TWO MORE weeks??!?!?!?!?! This phone is going to be the death of me, I just know it…

Too bad their updates never do squat, and their software sucks. I went from the D3 to the Sammy Stratosphere – the “year old” hardware in the Stratosphere actually performs as well if not better than the D3 in daily usage, simply due to all of the MotoBloat. Bluetooth actually works correctly with my car on the Samsung, unlike the past two Moto phones I’ve had (D2 and D3). The radio actually works correctly on the Samsung – it can connect to a network extender without issue and isn’t constantly signal hunting. I actually had WORSE battery life with the D3 than with the LTE-equipped Stratosphere.

Motorola can’t do software, they need to recognize this and go back to releasing vanilla Android phones like the “OG” Droid. If the D4 had an unlocked bootloader (and hence would get Cyanogen quickly), I would probably go there, but instead I’m considering a Nexus, even though not having the keyboard will make me cry.

I’m happy with my black Razr. My 2 years with my DX got me hooked on swipe. Its much faster than a physical board. Better yet, the voice-to-text works much better than before. It comes with task manager, witch is more stable then the task killer we’re all used to. If you haven’t upgraded yet, get the Razr. You won’t be disappointed.

The Galaxy Nexus’ camera is not better. If you’re going to root your GN than it doesn’t matter, bloat can easily be removed on any phone once rooted.
