Galaxy Nexus ICS vs. Nexus S ICS – So Many Differences

We are doing our best to forget about the fact that Ice Cream Sandwich and the Galaxy Nexus will not be unveiled next week at CTIA, and have instead found ourselves analyzing the hell out of the two ICS videos that have popped up in the last week. There are so many differences in them that we just had to point them out to everyone to get community opinions.

The first video we attached is from the Nexus S running ICS that was reportedly purchased on eBay.  It looks almost exactly as we had all pictured in our minds – Honeycomb turned tiny.  The second video is from this morning’s mega-leak featuring the G-Nex. It’s almost like the grown up or more polished version of ICS that we had actually hoped for.  One looks minimal yet sophisticated and buttery – the other looks like stock tablet Honeycomb, which is not necessarily a compliment.

So let’s dive into the differences that we easily spotted and then talk about them afterwards.

Nexus S video from last week:

YouTube Preview Image

Galaxy Nexus video from today:

YouTube Preview Image

First, let’s take a look at the picture taken from earlier in the week that clearly shows a different set of home/back/menu icons than what was leaked today.

Lock screens (notice the camera icons and clock fonts):

Camera apps (menu and icon differences):

Home icons and launcher (completely new look in the G-Nex):

Notification bars (smaller and darker on the G-Nex):

Quick task menus (simpler, classier on the G-Nex):

Settings menu (again simpler and classier on the G-Nex):

And it’s impossible to grab this in a picture, but the screen transitions are different on both phones in both the app drawer and widgets menu.

So as you can see, the Android team has been working overtime on making ICS the next great mobile operating system.  Our sources confirmed to us that while they have had the Galaxy Nexus, that it has received a firmware update almost daily. They also mentioned that it received an icon overhaul at some point. Through these two videos, we have essentially seen the transformation of ICS from being Honeycomb for phones to a polished and grown-up smartphone operating system.  And then there is the suggestion by our friends at AndroidGuys that the Galaxy Nexus is actually running a skinned TouchWiz version…please don’t let that be true.

Your thoughts? Which version do you prefer?

Cheers Steven and everyone else who chipped in!

I love the one from earlyer today, it looks more polished and complete, now we just need to know an announcement and relase date

  • Anonymous

I doubt its Touchwiz at all. I understand where the idea comes from, but I doubt it. Plus, thee dock and icons and everything seems more WebOS-like. You can see the obvious influence from WebOS on here — no surprise considering this is Martias Durate’s work.

  • http://twitter.com/Jamesdw24 Dillon wright

I am so glad it wont have touchwiz on it and it will be all stock android. I personally dont like touchwiz it looks really ugly to me and nor do I look motor blur. htc sence 3.0 Is the only skin I like but would rather have stock android.

    • Anonymous

sense is too bloated but it has some decent features. no one needs custom lock screens or friend stream or “courasel scrolling”.

      • Johnny

Actually that scrolling is pretty dope

        • LionStone

          yep

        • http://twitter.com/Alanxenos Alan Xenos

So is the weather lockscreen. The friendstream one is BS as it only shows 3 updates, but the weather is nice.

What kind of stupid name is G-Nex?  They really aren’t going to name it that are they?
Is it so hard to type out Galaxy Nexus that they have to give it a pathetic name like G-Nex?
    Wow.  Just wow.

    • Anonymous

its one of the many names that ‘kellex’ made up for this phone to confuse people. because he believes everything that “pops up in his inbox”

      • http://twitter.com/Tech_Jared Jared Fulgham

You do know that nobody is forcing you to come to this site. If you don’t like what is posted here, please don’t let the virtual door hit you in the virtual @$$.

  • Gottheguds112

Very intriguing how they are so different. I will say one thing though; when I saw the lockscreen clock font change, and the notification bar clock color on the Galaxy Nexus, I immediately thought TouchWiz. Say it ain’t so!

  • Traviesonyc

Can someone please confirm for me, aren’t those icons the same as the galaxy tab? (First picture on the right)

  • Kwalker23

There’s no way Google would let their ICS debut with Touchwiz anyway near it

    • Anonymous

      its not touchwiz. its stock.

    • http://www.facebook.com/borgey401 Andrew Borges

exactly what i was thinking, if history repeats itself every time a new OS comes out for Google it is NEVER skinned. skinned versions always come AFTER

    • Anonymous

      It will have touchwiz

  • Emeraldjun

It’s not for the specs we’re getting the phone, they’re plenty already. We’re getting the phone to have a ‘Google’ experience, unlocked bootloader, and all that jazz.

  • Anonymous

Don’t know if anyone noticed but the radio on the Bionic LTE is so powerful it will cause noise in speakers if you put it to close. I have speakers on my PC and when i get the Bionic to close you can hear crackling and snow like noise. I hear the same in my car cause I have a cassette adapter connected to my phone so i can watch movies and I hear the same noise there unless I switch to 3G only and the noise goes away. I’m guessing you can hear it in cheap head phones but maybe in well insulated headphones you won’t. LTE radio is no joke….

  • FortitudineVincimus

    “Our sources confirmed to us”

this whole concept is becoming so absurd in light of all of this

  • Anonymous

is this a joke? the one running on the nexus s is obviously an unfinished version. when the nexus s gets updated to ICS it will probably look just like the galaxy nexus version. why was that so hard to figure out?

    • Anonymous

      Lol trolling hard huh lol

      • Anonymous

barely. i dont go around ranting about how the “droid hd” is the best new phone, with its locked bootloaders, pentile displays, blur and all that fun stuff :L

you call the bionic near perfect lol

        • Anonymous

First of all, many people like pentile. The droid hd will have amoled, i hope is not saturated like most sammy display. Your beloved nexus will run touchwiz lol.

          • Anonymous

i would take the new touchwiz over the new blur anyday. Not to mention bootloader won’t be locked and encrypted so we can get custom kernels!

          • Anonymous

            same here sir, well said.

          • Anonymous

Who cares about changing kernels a 1% of people. My bionic its great out of the box and it’s massive ddr2 ram

          • Anonymous

Well since its my phone and I’m using it I care. Also why do you care what I care about? Oh that’s right because moto is the best according to you the king moto fanboy.

          • Anonymous

If they are not the best, who are? Irs not sammy nor htc.

          • Anonymous

Moto is the best at locking down their phones. And they have decent cellular radios. Far from the best though.

          • Anonymous

Decent lol the best radios and sound quality, build quality as well. They use magnesium in their devices :)

          • http://twitter.com/Alanxenos Alan Xenos

Better then my NS4G radio lol. But I love my HTC Evo 3d.

          • Anonymous

            Lol that’s good bro

          • Anonymous

Decent lol the best radios and sound quality, build quality as well. They use magnesium

          • Anonymous

of course some people like pentile, but most do not. people like superamoled as well. infact many call it the best display on the market. and where did you come up with idea that droid hd will have a amoled display? you lost me there. did moto put you in charge and you now know all of there future plans or did are you just pulling more and more bs out of your ass as usual?

          • Anonymous

Are you ou are stupid or you dont read? Go ahead ask kellex, he will tell you what type of display the razor will have.

          • Anonymous

what makes you think kellex knows any more then you do? because he runs a website about phones? arguing with you is rediculous. you are so unreasonable.

          • Anonymous

He does know, he was the one who taught you how to root your 256 of ram droid 1 lol. You are a tool.

          • http://twitter.com/Alanxenos Alan Xenos

Lol its funny to watch you get butthurt over a rumored screen type. And when it came out, the OG droid KICKED ASS.

          • Anonymous

You are the one crying tool. I am just giving you good facts so you can gain knowledge

          • Anonymous

Are you ou are stupid or you dont read? Go ahead ask kellex, he will tell you what type of display the razor will have.

        • Anonymous

The AMOLED HD screen on this Galaxy Nexus is also pentile buddy.

  • Buhasko

I think some of the differences noted are due to the different screen resolutions. Especially in the settings and lock screens. Also to a certain extent on the task switcher. It probably is normal to have two alterations of the stock experience for such a big difference in screen resolution.’ If they didn’t do this it will be like windows on different displays: the bigger the reslution the smaller the icons. If this were to happen on a phone you’d almsot certainly need a stylus type of device to hit whatever icon you need. Kind of like winmo 6, which as we all know sucked big time.

    • Anonymous

or maybe a different iteration for the phones that have keys on the bottom?

      • Buhasko

That as well. I was more focused on the difference in the menu appereance, but is obvious to me. Its like having the same chasis for car and threeweeler. It would be rather stuid to not make it different buttonless and with buttons.

      • Anonymous

There is a configuration bit in ICS that toggles onscreen buttons on/off.

  • http://twitter.com/RobStemen Rob Stemen

Okay.  For one thing, I’m almost positive that’s not TW.  For another thing, say it IS TW.  We see it.  Running on the phone, be it in videos, pics, etc.  It is GOOD looking!  Even if this is a TouchWiz phone, this is not the TouchWiz we’ve come to know and hate.

And, on that note, I don’t think it’s TW anyways, so yeah :P

  • http://twitter.com/jewishdave jewishdave

not to be negative but what happens when your phone locks up if you have no physical back/home buttons?

    • Anonymous

      you press the unlock button…

      • Anonymous

or pull out the battery? Idk what phone he has but I have never had any lock ups on my tb. I would expect this to be the same

        • Anonymous

i thought he was referring to unlocking the screen. but if not he probably has a motorola, it is typical for moto phones to that.

          • Anonymous

There is a configuration bit in ICS to toggle onscreen buttons on/off.

    • Anonymous

The same thing that happens to the physical buttons when the OS “locks up”?  They don’t respond.

That being said, with Honeycomb, there seems to be 2 “layers”. I have had Apps (not the OS) freeze, and the buttons still responded.

  • http://twitter.com/BlackTaxi2d Henry S

remember the list of applications installed ? there was nothing touchwiz on that list.

    iain’tevenmad.gif

  • Anonymous

I agree that definitely seems like TouchWiz to me. Just look at the way it functions. Anyone whose used a Galaxy S2 knows this. It’s time to take a look at the system dump from earlier this week to look for any TouchWiz apps.

  • Br_hermon

Google would be a bunch of morons if they released a brand new OS… SKINNED! Stupid!! It just makes zero sense… There’s no way this thing is going to be skinned. To answer the question… I like the G-Nex better. Although I will say… I don’t want pages of apps. I want one smooth scroll (as it currently is) I like a quick flick to the bottom of my apps. Also…. You missed a difference… It speculation but.. it looks as if the persons hand on the G-Nex powers off the screen on the upper left BUT that doesn’t match up with what we saw in the teaser video. Hmmm

  • Anonymous

Touchwiz was the first thing that I thought when I saw those screenshots. It looks exactly like Touchwiz with a less ugly skin.

    • Droidfan

      I agree

  • Droidfan

Man the Galaxy Nexus looks a lot like the fascinate….boo

  • Anonymous

if it runs touch wiz i will be getting the vigor that is all

    • Anonymous

I’ll take touchwiz and ics over gb and sense anyday

  • Anonymous

Kellex you even say your sources say it gets updated daily so why is this so hard to think a newer build would look different than an older build????

  • Anonymous

Two different builds. I remember hearing somewhere that the OS is being updated daily.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=10215724 Raj Bhatt

Good God, if it has TouchWiz, I’ll happily stick with my Bionic. It shouldn’t tarnish the name “Nexus” like that.

    • ImNotKellex

      Bro, u mad?

I would rather someone compare the stripped down Galaxy Nexus that will be available on Verizon to the much better phone that will be available on other carriers. WHY!!!!!!???!!!!!!

Isnt the nexus line dev phones so wouldn’t they not put touch wiz on a dev phone ?

    • LionStone

To my understanding, putting TW on the Nexus would be like committing a cardinal sin.

Vigoorrr…come out, come out, wherever you arrrrree…

  • http://twitter.com/GRZLA Grizzly Atoms

I have a feeling the Nexus S version is going to be the one to roll out to all phones with soft buttons.

  • http://twitter.com/jamdev12 jamdev12

My thing is, if Google really wanted to get a little more revolutionary with ICS, why not make it completely buttonless. Before you bash my idea hear me out. Most of the motions that we make on the phone can be used as ways to get to different parts of the phone. For example:1. Swipe side to side to get from one screen to another left to right motion, right to left motion.2. Swipe up you get your installed apps (down to up motion)3. In apps install menu you get back to the home screens with a swipe down from the top of the list (up to down motion)4. To see apps running, press and hold in any of the screens (press and hold)5. To see all screens, double tap ( double tap)There are a few other things which I know would be difficult to initiate with this sort of motion control, installing widgets or getting to settings, but some people could find this as appealing. I know I would. A complete buttonless experience is something that can be accomplished with Android. Whether Google is willing to go that route, that is a different story.

    • ImNotKellex

It has to be user friendly. No buttons, not user friendly. Great idea, and someone needs to put that in a ROM, but again, not user friendly, at least for newbs.

  • Anonymous

Well being that that nexus s was purchased on eBay, its highly likely that the build we saw on the nexus s video was older.

The Nexus S version is just a much earlier build. When I develop software, I usually recycle old UI elements until the very end, or outsource the UI altogether to the graphics department, and they give it back at the end of a project. All throughout development, the UI is crappy, and that is exactly what we see with the Nexus S build. Also, I can guarantee that the official Nexus S build of ICS will not have on-screen buttons, but will the use the ones already on the phone.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=25802390 Michael Sullivan

ill take either one.. both a millions times better than the Blur my Bionic is running right now.

    • Alexander Garcia

Exactly my friend. However, I actually like the Bionic Blur. It’s pretty zippy and it doesn’t get in the way like the OG Blur did.

  • Taylor Davis

Looks more like TouchWiz 4.0 stole from ICS. I doubt that ICS is skinned.  It is known that Samsung has had access to ICS and why not take some of the ideas from ICS and put it on the SGSII w/ TW4.0?

  • Anonymous

I’m really hoping you can edit the appearance of those soft buttons “a la” Launcherpro or ADW

  • Anonymous

they are both ugly.. waiting for HTC to roll out a sense-d ICS

  • Mosbysjedi

Looks good in my opinion,  though I’m just ready to upgrade from my og droid, it’s starting to give out on me

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=797475274 Nadeem Najib Kizi

I still don’t believe that’s the official ICS…ill quote myself from earlier,”
If this is the Galaxy Nexus / Droid Prime, which has the 720p HD resolution, why are the screenshots resolution: 450 x 800? Should not it be 720 x 1280??”

On a side note, maybe it’s being called the Galaxy Nexus because it’s a combination of Google (Nexus Device) and Sammy (Touchwiz)

    • Anonymous

Could have been resized by the original poster.  If you scale them up, they definitely scale to 1280×720.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=797475274 Nadeem Najib Kizi

        Nevermined :) I just tested it in photoshop, a 450 x 800 picture scales to 720 x 1280

  • Anonymous

Maybe the fact that the g nex version was closer to launch ready? I mean a lot can change in a few weeks.

  • Tirsun25

so the video of the samsung nexus was true wooww !! But I still considering tha ICS is kind of Ugly they can do better

  • UncagedChipmunk

Was thinking that since the buttons are no longer physical couldn’t we change them into whatever symbols we wanted?

    • http://twitter.com/Alanxenos Alan Xenos

That’s what was on the Samsung Continuum on VZW, look on XDA. Hoping for the same thing here

  • WindedBison

if this phone ships with touchwiz, I will lose all faith in humanity. And yes, I am mad bro.

    • http://twitter.com/binglut9 Brian

      Haha +1 on being mad

    • FortitudineVincimus

I see what you did there

    • Mikroft

Why would a Nexus phone ship with Touchwiz…never have never will.

      • http://twitter.com/genetic_bloom genetic_bloom

Because it’s not a Nexus. No one ever said the Nexus was coming to Verizon, just the Prime. I wouldn’t be surprised if Verizon gets the skinned Samsung version and the other carriers get the pure Google one. Would you be surprised if Verizon pulled something like that? They haven’t really embraced openness as of late.

        • francissawyer

Yep. Verizon is gonna get the prime which will probably have the specs that were leaked first with the 5mp camera, 4430 or 4460 chip and the smaller battery. The true nexus will have the beastly specs that leaked next with 8mp camera bigger processor and battery. My only question is will the Verizon Prime be the new sexy design or something different. My guess is the latter of the 2. Remember the leaked video. Dude shut the phone off on the top left and the pic of new nexus has power button clearly on the top right!! Def would not surprise me!!

          • Anonymous

If no stock nexus on Verizon, then I will lose all faith in Android and move on to maybe WP7.  All I want is a stock experience.

    • please no t-wiz

We are all mad, bro. I have a sick feeling in my stomach that VZW will get the skinned Prime and other carriers will get the Vanilla nexus. After all, it is replacing the charge. Why would a stock nexus phone replace the charge. That’s all, im going to puke now! And now im irate!!

      • please no t-wiz

Conspiracy theory: all the carriers that got the galaxy s2 will get pure google nexus. Theirs will be called the nexus prime. They aren’t going to get another Sammy phone with a newer version of twiz. VZW will get the skinned version called the galaxy nexus. Galaxy, cause it too will have twiz. That’s why they passed on the galaxy s2. Too much time to think. And I 100% hope im wrong. Still mad!!

        • please no t-wiz

^galaxy prime for VZW not galaxy nexus. My bad.

  • Tom Burke

I actually like the Nexus S version better with the first set of leaked virtual touch keys

  • DroidzFX

Why is it so hard to believe one is an earlier build. If anyone has ever used touchwiz you know what it looks like. This looks nothing like touchwiz but more of a refined ICS.

    • Anonymous

I do believe it’s an earlier build.  Just tossing everyone’s ideas out there.  Also, if you look at the icon set other than the dock icons, it’s all stock stuff.

      • Superior1

So are we saying the leaked video from today is the earlier build???? I kinda hope so.

        • Anonymous

The nexus s is earlier build the g nex as kellex tries to call it is the new version.

      • Anonymous

Whatever it is, I liked the icons, fonts, and some of the transitions in the Nexus S version more, except for the on screen buttons, they definitely look better now. The problem for me, is the new one looks like their trying to make everything look realistic and it’s ugly, I wish they would stick with the blocky, tron-like digital look. I really love the look of Honeycomb, and it looks like they are straying too far from it for my taste.

You’re getting on my nerves… I respect you for your opinions, and I love Motorola too and have a good history with Motorola phones, but a lot of your comments are downright rude and nothing more than a nuisance. You turn everything into a personal attack, even if it wasn’t. Stop being so closed minded about everything and give it up — could you please be a bit more considerate?

The constant name calling is really mature too.

          • Anonymous

Lol i get on everyone nerves. Everything that i say i back it up with facts. I am also realistic about which devices are good and bad.

          • Anonymous

That’s just for fun dont take it personally if i hurt your soul before

          • Ben

You’ve never hurt me before — your comments wouldn’t hurt me. They irk me, however, because of how rude and biased they seem. I’ve seen several of your arguments that aren’t backed up with reasonable fact. Like I said before, I respect your opinions and love for Motorola, but your presentation of them is far from classy.

I don’t see why you consider getting on everyone’s nerves a good thing either.

          • Anonymous

You are hurt right now lol. I always backed up my facts. If you don’t like people expressing their opinion, you shouldn’t come in here. You don’t contribute with the discussions anyways.

          • Ben

Definitely not hurt in any way by what you’re saying. Not sure how you’d be able to know if I were hurt, either. But your comments do not hurt me at all. I contribute in discussions on Droid Life either, but I don’t comment on everything saying how Motorola will triumph over everything, or throwing nasty comments and names at everyone either. Take a look in the mirror.

          • Anonymous

Ok discuss something important to us then and make sure you have your facts straight.

Lol. You seriously liked the old version better? It was so whacked out looking. It was very distracting and bloated. New version is way better and much more pleasing to the eyes imo.

          • Anonymous

Mostly for me it’s clock font on the lockscreen, and some of the icons particularly the ones in the dock, and the Google bar at the top, oh and that horrible wallpaper screams Samsung / HTC Sense, I prefer a more unified color scheme.

        • aburtson

I totally agree with you, the UI shown on the Nexus S is much better. All the dock icons on the Galaxy Nexus are fugly as hell.

      • DroidzFX

Kellex, even tossing out the skin idea makes my eye twitch. We need vanilla Android and that is what we are going to get!!

        • Anonymous

          Maybe not

      • cookiees

As much as I would hope that it isn’t a skin, the icons look out of place on the dock and like Touchwiz, which personally disgusts me. I hope they redo the icons if they’re not Touchwiz, but it certainly looks like it to me.

        • Anonymous

I, too, find the dock icons to be out of place. Almost absurd-looking. Hopefully they can refine it a bit more before release…they need to streamline the size, placement, and colors a bit more.

And Google doesn’t really need to be taking a cue from Samsung on gaudy colors. Keep it classy and muted like 2.3.

          • Anonymous

I do agree samsung put ugly colors in their devices

          • cookiees

couldn’t of said it better my self.

Off topic but remember the noise in the Bionic headphones?  Don’t know if anyone noticed but the radio on the Bionic LTE is so powerful it will cause noise in speakers if you put it to close. I have speakers on my PC and when i get the Bionic to close you can hear crackling and snow like noise. I hear the same in my car cause I have a cassette adapter connected to my phone so i can watch movies and I hear the same noise there unless I switch to 3G only and the noise goes away. I’m guessing you can hear it in cheap head phones but maybe in well insulated headphones you won’t. LTE radio is no joke….

        • Anonymous

That happened when I put 3g phones near speakers also. My laptop is the same way it makes the speakers crackle when near my desktop.

          • Anonymous

Ok but while this is happening I turn off the 4G and switch to 3G only and it goes away. It’s real noticeable in my car. How do you explain that?

          • Anonymous

It probably has something to do with one of the slew of problems that the bionic has.

          • Anonymous

The bionic is close to perfect

          • Anonymous

No its not you foolish fanboy.

          • Anonymous

You are a fat sheep. You will be let down with your nexus with touchwiz lol

          • Anonymous

Nope sorry phones don’t let me down. But you are already let down with your kirk garbage

          • Anonymous

Im not happy with my bionic and DroidX2 :) ill get droid razor :) and give my DroidX2 to my brother. I’ll have to beast. You seem that you are broke at the moment holding on to your 256 of ram droid lol.

          • Anonymous

ha droid? I never had the original droid. I am fine with my free tb that I got. Not going to waste an upgrade on a locked down bug ridden moto product. Have you seen the updates that are needed for the x2 and bionic how many issues they have? I mean they only delay it 9 months and still cant get it closer to bug free. must have been too busy trying their best to encrypt the bootloaders.

          • Anonymous

Those are software bugs, unlike your garbage tb lol. I thought you had something better. The tb has been the most disappointed device in the history of smartphone. No gb yet, cheap ass battery, weak radios and sound quality and many more.

          • Anonymous

Once again I said I got it for free but you are to stupid to be able to read. I have gb and I’m not rooted. The issues you talk about are all software related just like your bionic. 9 months and the bionic still couldn’t come out working. Have fun with that moto fanboy. Cant wait to see what you say once another non moto phone is released since you have jha’s cock so far down your throat.

          • Anonymous

You were crying before and now you are hurt lol. Look at you crying like a little girl and cursing lol. Go suck a sheep’s cock lol

          • Anonymous

So you say I am cursing yet you say the same thing? I am surprised you could even type a response since you obviously are with JHA right now going down. Hurt? Crying? Actually I am laughing because you are more of a clown than iphone fanboys. You have reached a new level of cluelessness=) have a good day with your bug ridden bionic. Maybe quit trolling on every non motorola article, go outside enjoy the weather rather than stay in your mother’s basement playing WOW all day. Bye

          • Anonymous

Let the anger out of your system stupid sheep. Go make your wife some lunch, since she has the power in the house lol. You are a fat sheep.

          • Anonymous

ha whatever you say. Stay classy in that basement and ask your mom to make me some dinner since you have to follow her rules. and make sure the lights are out by 9 young fool.

          • Anonymous

You are a kid lol, i just noticed. Go play super Mario Brothers lol

          • Anonymous

Super mario brothers? Come on old head get with the times the games kids( since that is what you think i am) play are COD, stuff like that. Not being able to see the light of outside must be bringing you back to your childhood days of playing with sticks and yourself since noone else would play with you.

          • Anonymous

You are still playing doctors with your male friends lol. You are a joke. You should throw your garbage tb in the trash lol

          • Anonymous

Are you mad you are stuck with a bionic? I mean it is funny you continue crying about what device I use. If it is so garbage why do you care what I use? Like I said you are just like dick yarrell, a clueless fanboy who makes iphone fanboys look normal.

          • Anonymous

The only one crying is you lol. You have suffered enough with your Thunderbolt. Go back to Africa, you don’t have any knowledge about technology, and I don’t have time to educate you :)

          • Anonymous

            LOL at both of you.

          • Anonymous

Lol he tried to make us believe that the Thunderbolt is a good device.

          • Anonymous

Would you stop egging him on with hyperbole as well, it’s not helping matters.

          • Anonymous

You are a kid lol, i just noticed

          • POOP_on_YOU

It does have GB.  You must be new to this website.  I like Motorola products but The DX2 and Bionic are very buggy.  I think the Bionic is more of disappointing phone than the thunderbolt is.  Sooo much time for what?  They should have released it in May and blamed all the problem on a short timeframe.  What’s their excuse now?

          • Anonymous

They waited like 8 months just to put gb in it lol

          • Anonymous

The iphone blow your device out of the water

          • wintersun

You’re living in an artificial dream world if you think the bionic is perfect. The bionic has the most bugs of any Motorola device to land on big red. You and Sanjay Jha would make a perfect couple because you are both ignorant and delusional. Do yourself a favor and throw your bionic in the garbage. You will see the light when you quit drinking the Motorola kool aid.

          • Anonymous

Unlike you, I actually own a Bionic and it is a great phone.  Stop pulling shit out of your ass.

          • Anonymous

the bionic isn’t even that bad. the only problem with it that I’ve noticed is the whine when headphones are plugged in. and its only noticeable when the volume is low.

          • Anonymous

Being you own a TB, you really shouldn’t be talking about other phones having bugs.

          • Anonymous

I wasnt the one saying it is perfect like angel was trying to say about the bionic. Funny thing is with the ota and gb pretty much every issue is gone, and battery is alot better. But haters gonna hate no matter what.

          • Anonymous

Haters gonna hate? You mean like you and every other kid on this site is doing to the Bionic? Why can’t you all just enjoy what you have instead of putting everything else down?

          • Anonymous

Your answer tells me you don’t have any idea why this is happening. Let me help you. The Frequency and power of the LTE  radio causes EMI in the speaker and shows up as a snow or growl type sound thru the voice coil. Cause as you know or may not the voice coil works off of electronic pulses, and EMI is a form of electrical pulse. This is not a “problem” the Bionic has a powerful Radio and this is a good thing. The problem is the end result of which all you have to do is turn off the LTE and use CDMA 3G which will be fine if you are watching a movie or listening to music. The Verizon fix will probably a easy way to switch between the two or do it automatically for you when the ear phones are plugged in. OR advise you to just get a pair of well insulated ear phones and not buy the 5.00 ones with no insulation at all.

          • Anonymous

I said it affects the computer speakers not my headphones or maybe you just can’t read?

          • Anonymous

Dam dude have some coffee. Maybe you have some good headphones…..  :)
            take it easyyyy…. LOL

          • http://twitter.com/Alanxenos Alan Xenos

It’s a LTE/GSM thing. If you switch it to 3G CDMA, you will not have the problem. The noise is caused my interference. And it’s not a Bionic thing, the radio in the Bionic is stronger, so you notice it more. Had it with all of my GSM phones, like my old iPh*ne and Tracfone.

        • Anonymous

I do agree, lte is very powerful

      • ImNotKellex

        You mad me??

      • Anonymous

Honeycomb did weird things when you put it on different devices and different screen sizes.

I am sure ICS is building on that and in cases of MR type upgrades  (like existing dual cores or elder nexus devices) it will probably be a *slightly* different experience due to the different real estate on todays phones.
If it was the exact same on all the devices what reason would you have for the new one ;-)

  • http://twitter.com/GRZLA Grizzly Atoms

I really prefer the G-Nex version. It is a lot cleaner and is on the minimal side.

  • http://fabdroid.com Andrew Xie

I will take the GTI9250 tyvm.

  • QQMore

As long as it’s rootable/rooted and has an unlocked bootloader, I don’t care if it’s skinned because if I don’t like it I can “fix” it  :)

  • http://twitter.com/Chasemanhattan3 Chase Chick

If the Galaxy Nexus is skinned, I’m done… I will wait for something that’s not.  Thanks.

    • Madcow06

If the nexus is skinned in any manner at launch or in the plans to be in the future like the tab 10.1 then count me out. I hate touchwiz of any form, I’ll start looking into the Droid HD or Razr, whatever they decide to call it. I’m a moto fan and I’ll only switch for a true nexus with vanilla android and nothing less.

      • Anonymous

I’ll get the nexus if it us well built and the colors are less saturated than gs2

  • http://www.facebook.com/joshuaprodriguez Joshua Rodriguez

The back home and quick tasks on the Galaxy look a lot like the skinned version on the Galaxy Tab! Could be skinned my friends!!!

    • Tom Burke

It certainly looks it. All the icons and such are different too

      • http://www.facebook.com/joshuaprodriguez Joshua Rodriguez

But it does look better than the Nexus S. However, skinned = No Sale for me!!!

  • http://twitter.com/eatmode4life Ray Mendoza

I really dont like the soft buttons on the screen at the bottom. Not too thrilled about that. I am sure that someone out there smarter than I am can fix that.

  • http://twitter.com/strifejester Justin Ellenbecker

I thought we have already seen a system dump that is possible from the G-Nex and I didn’t see anything that would be “bloatware” in there.

  • DroidzFX
