I really received a call from the local Verizon sales staff this afternoon. They were authorized to announce the Droid Bionic can be purchased Thursday September 8. Its about time. Enjoy.

When will people stop visiting all these Android forums that create propaganda and anxiety. Noone is dangling the Carrot except these websites that post false document and portions of someones computer screen and pass it off as some sort of employee or organizational leak. Do yourself a favor and only pay attention to what you hear from the manufacturer or carrier and you will find yourself much better informed and less frustrated.

I was talking with a co-worker and his wife today. She is a manager at the local VZW store, an d she verified that the date of the 4th is the Bionic’s launch. Take this with whatever grain of salt you like, Even I wonder. It’s like “OK, so a Manager says it’s true… maybe her facts are wrong.” Related, she says there is no Galaxy S II slated for launch via Verizon. I quote “There are no Samsung launches in Aug or Sept that are worth noting, and We don’t have anything called the Galaxy S II.” this was all before the post about the fascinate II being a possibility

Wrong, HTC’s updates have bricked phones, nothing is perfect numbnuts. My brother happens to have a DX and has no problems. The DX update is the only update Moto has had problems with. No problems with the Atrix update or any past updates. Btw, CM7 is available for the DX as well. Just don’t even open your mouth if you have nothing but straw man reasoning to argue.

ive seen this site break alot of stories but at the same time work with other android communites to break certain stories as well, and each time ive seen credit given where it is due

It still doesn’t work with Exchange. MotoBlur just simply doesn’t cut it in the corporate world. When consumers have to purchase a third-party program like Touchdown just to get their email on their phone, that is a MAJOR flaw.

You can say all you want about build quality and software updates and whatever else you think Motorola shines at, but, at the end of the day, MotorBlur phones simply do not work with 80% of Exchange servers. Motorola has recognized these issues, but there is no fix other than buying Touchdown.

One day you will have a real job and when your phone won’t get your email, contacts, and calendar from Exchange 2010 (or any version of Exchange to be honest) you will understand that MotoBlur simply isn’t cutting it. The corporate world is avoiding Android in many large organizations because of Motorola’s issues.

Blackberry Enterprise Server gives them much better compatibility and a guarantee that the phone will sync. iPhone and EVERY non-MotoBlur phone has no problems with ActiveSync, but in a corporate environment that won’t do. If you owned a company with 5,000+ employees would you buy everyone a $20 license for Touchdown or just buy a phone with software that works for the same price?

You are correct that the Droid X is a wildly popular phone and so are other MotoBlur devices. I’m not arguing that. All I’m saying is their software is extremely flawed in support for the corporate environment and that is holding them (and Android) back from total dominance. It’s unfortunate.

i do agree droid x owners were the second to have ginger bread nexus being the first Motorolla for life we always come out of the best invention first double core, first droid first mirror modem laptopdock etc only nicer htc phones right now are the 3d and sensation they all have the latest upgrades i cant hate on those 2 but still the atrix beat them to the punch with its update
