Contest: Win an Acer Iconia 16GB WiFi Tablet!

Update:  Winner chosen here!

Day 3 of Reader Appreciation Week is here and we’re ready to give away another Honeycomb tablet to one of our amazing DL readers.  This time we’ve got the Acer Iconia Tab, a 16GB, Tegra 2, dual-camera, WiFi beast that many people have been sleeping on.  We all know that the Asus Transformer and XOOM are top notch, but the Acer hasn’t been getting enough press, which is a shame.  The device is easily rooted with Gingerbreak, is starting to build up quite the following in various forums, and should get Android 3.1 in June.  So who wants it?

To enter you must do one of the following (U.S. residents only again):

1a.  Follow us on Twitter and tweet the following:

Win an Acer Iconia Tab from @droid_life! Details here – http://goo.gl/RS1wt #dlacer #android

1b.  In the comments, remind us why Android is in your life.
2.  The entry period will run from today (May 25) until tomorrow (May 26) at 2PM Pacific.
3.  A winner will randomly be chosen and notified.  They will have 2 days to respond.

Good luck everyone!

And be sure to keep up with all of the action Tato has going on over at the Facebook page.  We’ve got all sorts of extra goodies to continue to give away.  Three full days left of giveaway madness…everyone holding up OK?

I think Android is going to make tablets the big thing that they should be.

  • Steve Peterson

I need something to break my itunes with.  I’m so sick of all the crap they do in life and on my systems.  please give me a reason to kill them!  This is the droid I’m looking for to help me with my anti-apple campaign.

  • tjhrulz

Android is in my life because the I*hone was not on verizon and I wanted a smartphone, It still is because I realized how crappy the I*hone was after having my OG droid for a few weeks.

Android in in my life coz where else will I be able to run a phone at double the clock frequency it originally came with.

i love android, it gives me the freedom to install and customize the phone the way i want it.

  • http://www.facebook.com/brianjinier Brian Jinier

i’ve tried all the rest and they just do not compare to android.  it’s flexibility and customization are unparallel and i wouldn’t have it any other way.  that’s why android is in my life.

Android is in my life because it’s the most likely candidate to reach the ubiquitous platform goal. That is the same platform every where so that data portability is fluid. I can access the same data, with out conversion, on everything. While Android isn’t there yet it’s very close. It’s on my phone and my tablet. Just a matter of time before it’s on my laptop and desktop too. Or, option 2 my laptop and desktop might just go away.

  • Firesong3k

If I didn’t have android, I’d have nothing to do in my spare time at work!  Since I consider work my life, I guess android would have to go hand in hand for helping throughout my work day at work therefore be a major part of my life!

  • G1-D2 and beyond

When I first learned about the G1, I knew I must own it. She was ugly and I knew it. Nevertheless, I was in love and pre-ordered. I’m not the early adopter type either. Seven months ago I finally upgraded to the Droid 2. I was no longer stuck on v1.5, the world opened up to me. The DroidX2 and Xperia Play now have me jealous. No matter. In 18 months, when I upgrade again, their successors will be out and I will once again be at the top of the Android nation!

Android is in my life because I am BUSY and it offers a way for me to always stay in synch.

Android is in my life because BlackBerry, WP7, iOS and Symbian suck!

  • RishiJain

    Twitter followed and posted.

I started out with a G1…I always wanted Android to be a part of my life after realizing its potential to outshadow iOS, and just the fact that it was so open.  Now, i wouldn’t change my decision at all.  I can do anything i want with a droid x, while many ifriends continue to bitch and moan about lack of some abilities.  Android rocks.

    Here’s to winning an Iconia!

  • Trellzxassassin

Android is my life because i can’t deal with blackberry’s because they are so laggy. I can’t deal with windows phones because it’s a little too basic. and I ESPECIALLY can’t deal with i*hone’s because the software is just too restricted. I DESPISE A*PLE !

Android is in my life because it makes my life at home and work simpler by keeping everything connected in one place, especially having four different Google accounts. Also, it has not only cupcakes, donuts, eclairs, froyo, gingerbread and honeycomb, but some ice cream sandwiches are on the way too. I’m not a huge fan of apples and blackberries :P

  • http://twitter.com/shooterweeda Ryan Weeda

Android is in my life because it chooses to be.  It likes the freedom of knowing that it can leave me at anytime.

Android gave me my interest in technology, after buying an og droid I fell in love and wanted to know everything. I love my phone, I love that people come up and ask me questions and ask for help. I taught a girl how to install cm7 just the other day :D

Android is in my life because I wanted a phone that does what I want it to do and not an iPhone that only allows me to do what it wants, plus I’d rather not be affiliated with the iPhone and its bougie users

Android is my life because without it i might be an apple fanboy (yuck)

  • http://twitter.com/Boom_Briggs Al Briggs

Well, Android is my preferred choice in many electronics because i like to customize and have control over my devices (to a point). Having a tablet would be big + for my small business.

  • http://twitter.com/jefbal99 Jeff Ballard

Android is in my life because it allows me to combine multiple electronic gadgets into a single powerful device.  Its allows me to manage my work responsibilities while also managing my home life too :)

Android has been in my life for over 2 years now and it has been the best two years! I never got into the IOS crowd nor was a palm/web os follower and when I was looking for something new I turned to Android and haven’t looked back since. Its the shear openess, customization and the fluidness that makes android appealing to so many.

  • Ted Rea

Android is in my life to drive productivity as well as give me a great hobby to enjoy.  I’ve helped several others root, hack, and mod their phones simply for the pleasure of experiencing a wide variety of devices and I’ve successfully converted a lot of people over from Apple products (one of my favorite accomplishments!)  It is a passion that I delve into daily and I love getting others excited about it too.  I used to work for Verizon around the time the OG Droid came out (my first Android experience) and I loved being able to introduce people to this OS on a daily basis and have them telling me later how much they now enjoy it.  I can’t put my finger on exactly what I like most about Android, but it’s really turned into a passionate hobby of mine and one that I’ve introduced to many others.  The Android community is second to none and I’m stoked to be a part of it!

Droids take a byte out of Apple…I am a convert….even sold my ipod….

  • http://twitter.com/jdnorthwest JD Northwest

Android offers me easy access to everything I want to do in the palm of my hand and soon every appliance in my house. Why would I live anyway else?

  • http://twitter.com/bryanbnoble Mike Ambrosino

I was itching for Android to blow up since the I*hone was first introduced.  I didn’t and still don’t like Apple’s approach to the world of technology.  I used to dream about the potential and all the mods you could do with smartphones from the day my dad got one.  When the OG Droid was released, I knew right away it was a game changer.  I told my friends to get it, my family, and I knew I had fallen in love.  I still have that OG Droid today, refusing to upgrade every time I’m offered or going through warranty.  Not trying to pull a pity vote here but the last time I won a giveaway was at a raffle when I was 8 years old, so it would be friggin SWEET to read DL on a tablet while tethering with my first love.  All I know is that who ever wins this should be extremely greatful, that is a beast of a device!

Android is in my life to make my day to day actvities easier. Including, but not limited to, conducting business on my Xoom, Using square up with my DroidX, tracking my daughter on her OG Droid, synchronizing activities with my wife’s calendar on her Droid 2 Global, and using Google talk to video conference with my lead tech manager on his EVO. Not to mention, Fruit Ninja, Pinball HD, Riptide HD and many more. But most important is my constantly checking Droid-Life for the latest and the greatest news and reviews.
