Add March 10th to the List of HTC Thunderbolt Release Dates (Updated)

The big rumor running around tech sites today suggested that the HTC Thunderbolt would be out next week on March 3rd or 4th, but the screenshot we just received from our friends at Best Buy suggests that it’ll be another week after that. March 10th is apparently the date that BBY is expecting to launch the phone and we’re of course skeptical, but at least it’s not from a random guy in a forum. Can you all wait another couple of weeks?

Update: This document was spammed out to every tech site on the planet last night and as many have pointed out, it looks a little odd to be taken too seriously. What’s even whackier, is that the tipster sent us a second email yesterday pointing out the fact that the Best Buy tweet about the 4th had been removed, only we already knew that. Fishy, fishy, fishy.

OK, I’m on the phone at this moment with a Verizon tech support rep and she said they got the word that the release date for the Tunderbolt is Monday, February 28th. She said that they pulled the previous dates because of leaks (?). I’ll believe it when I see it, but she was quite positive. I’ll just go ahead and believe this one, just because I wish it to be so. Anyone hear the same thing? I know, rumors, rumors…

Someone pointed out on another site that this pictured it fake or altered. If you look at the month March is written as 03 and February is written as 2. I will just wait for the official release date from BB.

I’m sure this holdup is a Verizon issue, not HTC. HTC probably has all the phones sitting there waiting for the green light. I bet Verizon is concerned about their network. Just imagine if they release the first 4g phone and then the owners of those phones have problems… LOL

The problem I’m beginning to have with the Thunderbolt is that Verizon is pricing it SO much higher than everyone else. They must be very confident that we are all dumb enough to buy it. Either that or they don’t care if we do. I wanted to get this phone but may have to pay out of pocket and I’m really starting to think a little more clearly.

I believe Verizon decided to pay meteorologists (the only profession paid to be wrong) to choose a launch date for the phone. The wanted to stay on queue with the whole thunder and lightning thing. This can be the only logical explanation…..

I talked with a Verizon flunky yesterday, while I was playing with the Xoom, and he told me it would be the middle of the month. I am really beginning to think that this phone is just something to get everyone worked up.

I think people at Best Buy are just speculating as much as the people waiting for the phones. I don’t believe anything they say, not their presidents, managers and definitely not their employees. In fact, they’re probably laughing about this article as I’m writing this post. So you want us to believe that the dates are correct because “some guy” who works at Best Buy is tweeting this stuff? Not I.

I haven’t given up on the phone because I have no reason to. Once again, no official dates have been announced so people who are saying that it’s 1, 2 or 3 months late have no proof. I understand people are tired of waiting and are anxious to get their hands on this phone, but stating that the phone is late due to your own expectations is kind of ridiculous no?

The day it gets released or any official news on the release date, please do an article on that, thank you.

Like everyone else I wanted this phone true specs aren’t anything to drool for but Lil feature make it Lil better than Droid x front camera 32gb SD card to name two. The want and wait is killing me.lol. ultimately went to Sprint traded my Droid x and incredible got to 2 evo 4g’s and can say I am happy again no more anxieties.lol

This really is the Incredible debacle all over again. HTC is just the red headed step child at Verizon. Obviously this phone has issues which even if they get corrected, I wouldn’t trust.

The irony is I caught the offical HTC commercial for the Thunderbolt last night during the Office. This situation is a nightmare.

*yawn* This thing didn’t come out yet? Hmmm that sucks. Who knew this device would spend most of its time becoming obsolete inside a box. I don’t know why everybody’s so excited about this phone, the specs are good but they’re not great by any means, it’s basically the same form factor/specs as the DX, Evo, Inspire etc. It’ll be more than capable but it’s not a revolutionary phone, 4g isn’t going to be widespread for a couple years anyway. Personally I’m hoping we get a Droid 3 with 2.4 and a unlocked bootloader this year

i think this might be an old paper..it mentions the release date of the iphone which was back a couple of weeks and also mentions some phones that were released in 2010..this might be an old sheet from back in 2010 but is just coming to us now..it might just be the first date the phone was sposed to come out in the first place and than all these february dates where an “upped” release date and this date of march tenth was the official date all along.

Took the words right out of my mouth. That’s probably been an internal document for a while now, and we’re just now getting it. Honestly though, we did this to ourselves. March is looking like the release of this highly anticipated phone and we just bought into any and all rumored dates, hoping for the best. If you’re annoyed about this phone not being released yet, understand that your bubbling rage and built hype stems not from Verizon, but from you refreshing droid life every .2 seconds waiting to see the next rumored release date.
