Should this not just show up in Wireless settings? USB Tethering is there but I was so hoping to make my Droid a Wireless hotspot. What do I have to do? Buy a new phone? I like my Droid…

I have found that I can tether my WinXP laptop to the Droid. It recognizes it as a “Android USB Ethernet/RNDIS” network adapter. But upon trying to browse, Verizon has essentially blocked it saying that I need to upgrade my plan to use 5GB of data a month for $15.00″ Are you kidding me with this?

This proves the point that Droid is certainly capable of USB tethering… I think that Verizon is basically denying access because of fears of network overload with the Froyo release. I pay $29.99 data access per month… I should be allowed to use my Droid as a wireless modem!

Also this feature (wifi hotspot) is advertised as a main selling point for those two Palm phones so its not like verizon doesnt know the feature is there they def. know all about it they simply “allow” it to be accessible.
