What does battery charge rate have to do with Qualcomm silicon??
Your bottleneck is the 1 amp (5 watts) from a USB 3.0 connector, or a bit more from some beefy USB power ports that plug into the wall.
Yes you need circuitry to monitor incoming voltage, current, battery temperature and perhaps internal resistance but what does charge rate have to do with chips? It’s not a specialized technology, it doesn’t take high tech hardware to manage a single cell lithium battery.

Yeah Qualcomm forgot to mention all those listed devices have batteries that deplete 60% faster as well. That’s why they need to be charged quicker than any other Android device. I’ll tell you thank god my Galaxy Note 2 doesn’t have these snapdragon battery ussues. I get 9 to 11hrs of on screen time daily on my Galaxy Note 2 the battery life on that is the best on the market.

My phone charges twice (2x’s, 200%) not 40% faster, and it’s not because of what is in the article, it’s because of the 2 amp charger. Most phones come with a 1 amp charger, but you can buy aftermarket 2 amps chargers (3rd party are generally not as high as rated though), however the Galaxy Note 2 comes with a 2 amp charger as standard.

Yeah just make sure you use the charger that came with the phone. All chargers are not equal

I use an old Motorola 1 amp at night since it’s gonna be there for 6-8 hours and keep the 2 amps charger in the living room for quick charges if I’m low.

It’s not a feature, it’s just the charger. It’s 2 amps instead of the usual 1 amp so it charges twice as fast.

Wow, I never noticed that! Ive been using the supplied USB cable for my comp and have been using my old BB charger by my bed every night. I just checked it.. 700mA! lol

Sounds like it may not work as well (or at all) with wireless charging.

“Quick Charge 1.0 is offered to our customers as an integrated solution (as part of the PMIC, or power management integrated circuit) and a standalone solution that interfaces to the USB connector. Any phone or tablet’s charging port can be enabled with Quick Charge.”

I have never timed it, but I know for sure my GN2 will do near a full charge in about 2 hours. Or so it seems.
