I am running 4.2.2 for VZW and it didn’t install chrome. I’m still rocking browser.

yes, AOKP mr1 build 3 is 4.2.1 and it has the stock browser built in. The stock browser is part of AOSP (chrome is not) so any AOSP based rom “should” have it built in.

The 4.2.1 factory image has the stock browser so I bet some/most roms do. Roms don’t include apps like Chrome though so…

Most of the custom 4.2 ROMs DO come with the stock browser. mmuzzy’s JOP40D build most certainly does.

just so you know if you get the nexus 4 it has a toggle so you can switch it to 2g and you will be able to get coverage for your calls. and if you need data just hook it up to wifi

If you can get your hands an an ATT sim card from Straight Talk (they’re still out there) you can run over ATT towers which is comparable in most places to Verizon. Check Walmart online.

Just hope they do something about the battery drain on the nexus 4 love this phone but feel like I need to have it on a charger constantly.

True story. The devs have saved Verizon’s butt. I would be soooo pissed without custom ROM’s. I’d probably have to stop reading tech sites like this just so I didn’t know what I was missing out on.
