Titanium backup doesn’t backup SMS. You also have to pay to have it sync with the cloud. And you have to be rooted to actually use Titanium (on Carbon there’s ways for unrooted and rooted alike). And Carbon is faster.
So, Titanium does NONE of those.

When is it going to support backing up encrypted phones? It refuses to run on my phone since the storage is encrypted, says “Coming in a future release”, but that’s it.

I doubt they’re one and the same. TB is able to back up some deep-level phone settings that have traditionally required root. The question is whether Carbon can do the same without root, which I’d doubt; it probably does a lot, but not quite what Titanium Backup does.

MyBackup/MyBackup Pro can also back up most of your phone without root, but not everything.

I think you have a good question. I have a similar question about if this app provides any benefits over MyBackup Pro, which doesn’t require root, and already backs up my SMS data. If it does, I’d consider it.

Okay, so Koush (I’m assuming since Mac is what he uses to code) loaded up the DDMS to get a screenshot of the app, but then he took a screenshot of the DDMS when he could’ve just hit the save button? Doesn’t make much sense.
It’s like taking a picture of a camera that’s taking a picture.

I’d get this in a heartbeat if it also did MMS backup. I have to many pic texts I’ve sent and I don’t want to just lose those too.
