I think the idea is that a lot of people would already have the game purchased on Steam, and this device would be complimentary. My point of contest would still be portability: if I buy a handheld, I want to be able to get out of the house with my games (play on any wifi or cellular connection).

It would be nice if the licensing let’s you have the game across multiple devices, but I don’t think people are going to pay $60 to play this game solely with an nvidia device when the graphics and game play is better on a console or pc

if they ran servers with the new games this would be amazing like how they did the tech demos. i dropped out of the Graphics card update frenzy and currently dont have a cpu to run these games but to be able to have PC quality and portability i’d be in for sure if i didnt need my own rig pushing the data. still its a huge leap in terms of streaming games.

some of you are missing the point.. they are demonstrating cloud gaming.. obviously if you are in the same room you should to play on the PC.. wasn’t the point

You can take them anywhere, but not play them anywhere. Or am i wrong ,can you use this in car or on train,bus or hotal room? If it can I’d be first in line.

Look up an app called Kainy. Its certainly not perfect, but I have managed to stream skyrim over 4G with minimal lag.

Exactly! I wonder though..can you be at another location(friend’s house) and still play from your PC on Project Shield? Or do you need to be in the same area(your own house) as your PC? I understand the need to be in the same location as your router(WiFi), but maybe nVidia will set up some sort of subscription plan where you can be anywhere and still play games from PC to PS as long as your PC is on. That would be pretty sweet.
