I would love to see the Google+ numbers, how many people are using it now since it first started, the first week it came out it had 50 K users.

comScore should fire their stat people. Why release a graph that doesn’t take into account the fact that G Maps was unavailable when the iPhone 5 launched. While they’re at it they should fire their accountants too. I bet they’re fudging numbers to the IRS too!

Maybe it’s just that Maps has been so popular, there aren’t any “unique” users left. Everyone’s already tried it, loved it, stuck with it.

Facebook’s SDK is pretty flakey and doesn’t always show everything you would see if you were on Facebook’s app or web site. I’m sure that Facebook doesn’t use their SDK in making their app and that they have a more direct access to their database.

I had no idea that Cooliris was so big either. I think a big part of it can be the shear number of pictures that it can grab after a search. I use the DroidIris variant on my tablet.

From this graph it looks like Facebook only scored higher in October, November, and December. So, in the final months of 2012, the Facebook was seeing more usage than Google Maps was, but in total usage for the whole year (essentially the integral of these functions), it looks like Google Maps wins.

I’m developing an alternative Facebook app right now because the official one is so bad, and other third-party ones, while better, have lots of things I would change about them. I’m still really new at Android coding and I’m teaching myself in my spare time. I’m alpha testing right now, but if DL staff and readers are interested I’d be happy to do a public beta.

Friendcaster will not pull many of my friends’ statuses and photos which renders it completely useless. If it doesn’t do 100% of what the official app does, it’s useless to me I don’t care how much faster and prettier it is.
