There have been smaller tablets ever since the first Android tablet. They have terrible sales numbers which is why they are dying off.

Yes, the Excite 7.7 is very good as is Samsung’s – and the Galaxy Tab 8.9 is too.

However, they are running older silicon now.

Has anyone put the total effort into 8-9″ like Kindle/Google have with the 7″? Nope. For a long while Android was basically stuck at 10.x as well, because that was all that was available/promoted (Not that they sold worth a damn either). If there was a relatively affordable 8-9″ with decent internals (Like Dan alluded to above), it’d be great, even moreso if it was hyped enough to sell well and have more of a useable life beyond the next 12 months that the manufacturer will actually care (Thanks to Development support it can last longer).

Aaaaaand…. no one wants them. Or ever wanted them. Just like no one wants an iPad mini. People want 7″ or 10″. Which is why companies make them in those sizes. Shocking isn’t it?

google tv? Ugh, not a good os. Until you can properly install XBMC, I will never recommend a google tv product

Basically it is to replace a desktop pc, apple came out with one back in october, a large tv like touchscreen monitor but all in 1 device, except the one here is portable and slightly smaller than the apple device i saw in october.
