I have a Google TV now, the LG 55g2. The TV is phenomenal. It is so flexible, the remote is great (though it could be improved). The built in guide and access to media is quite surprising. It all needs to be improved, but that’s not the fault of Google or LG, it’s the fault of media providers.

You just LOVE that word don’t you? (wrong) you sound like a spoiled teenager. We were not talking about set-top boxes like the revue. We were talking about stick type Google TV devices. Also, I’ve owned the Revue, and hated it. Yes the blasters were convenient, But lugging around a full size QWERTY in the living room was far from comfortable.

The Logitech Revue remote controls my entire living room, and it uses the same input HDMI input as my cable TV, so you don’t need to switch.

Integrated G-TV will have better remote control support. Streamlined connectivity. With a separate device, you have to manually select the input, and use multiple remotes. What makes you think LG won’t put a quad core A-9 into the TV or an Intel Atom?

Actually, you have it backwards.

A native experience offers nothing in terms of experience for Google TV, as the interface is the same with an external device as it is built in.

The difference is, when the next cycle of Google TV updates roll out, the external devices will offer faster hardware, better and faster software, more integration, etc etc bla bla bla

While you’ll be sitting at home watching your LG Google TV experience that will be behind as it won’t get the update. That my friend, is fragmentation. You won’t simply buy a new TV with Google TV integrated. No way.

Wrong. Totally wrong. Completely wrong.

You upgrade TVs like once every 5-10 years (most people). Hardware for Google TV, and software for Google TV, will get upgrades like computers.

It should always be a separate experience. Always.

That TV’s legs look like giant mandibles. If Android makes in sentient, I’d be worried what it could do with them.

XMBC is just a media app. A great media app but the point is, you have a full version of android running underneath. That’s what opens up the possibilities.

sorry, i have a xmbc dedicated box, and have had a logitech, and what does xmbc offer that the logitech doesn’t? other then actual storage space, i can’t think of anything.
