Yes, the Maxx battery is 200mAh larger than the one in the Note 2, so if the rest of the phone were exactly the same the Maxx would have a somewhat longer battery life.

The reason the Note II last as long as it does is because the Cortex-A9 processor inside of it is much more "fuel efficient" than even the mighty Snapdragon of the Maxx HD.

You bring up a great point that battery size is not everything...you also need a phone that uses that size efficiently.

With this said, I believe Moto/Google will use their 3300mAh Maxx battery in this phone with a 2 GHz quad core processor with an efficiency close to an A9 (probably in coordination with Qualcom)...this combined with a smaller screen (5.5 inches is too big for many consumers) should solve any battery concerns anyone has about this phone (although this is something Motorola has definitely gotten right as of late).

Most likely. Personally, I turn notifications off for most of those so they aren't running all the time. Google voice & talk I leave on. If you don't have to have notifications for a certain app, like G+, FB, Instagram, twitter... whatever you can do without having to be notified or set them to only check so often. It takes awhile to go through them all, but you want to limit as many as you can. It will help speed & battery life. Here's a thread I made a while ago that will help with battery & maybe give you some ideas to limit what's running. http://rootzwiki.com/topic/26383-my-vzw-gnex-settings-for-battery-life-thread/

I could see it being a little sluggish with less than 50MB of RAM, but there is no good reason you should be down that low. You have to have something eating your resources. If you're getting under 79MB, you have something else going on. Android is not killing your processes right for some reason. You have an app/apps that are refusing to be killed or just way too many apps running in the background. 80MB free is what EVERY SINGLE ROM developer sets it at. If you have more than 100MB free, I guarantee you that the RAM is doing nothing to help you. How can the RAM help you if it's not being used? This isn't just inherent to Android. The same thing goes for computers. Only computers have larger applications, so you need more RAM free in case you open a large app. Most Android apps are 2 - 6MBs. Some games are 20MBs or slightly larger. I would suggest that you do some research into it, like I stated in my last post. I GUARANTEE you that something else is going on with your phone.

That's crazy, cuz my GNex running the same ROM feels just fine. It's normal to have less than 100MBs free. Unused RAM is wasted RAM. You only need 80MB for new apps/services to start. The ROM devs set the native task killer up to work like this. Some people even set their phones up to have only 50MB free. You most likely have an app that is eating your resources. Do some research by checking your battery usage, running apps & maybe download an app like betterbatterystats or gsam to get more info.

You guys need to learn how to check your resources! My N4 stays right around 1.3GB of free RAM. I haven't seen it get close to 1GB used yet. I could see how crappy overlays (like TouchWiz) would use more RAM, but my S3 on CM10 was the same as my N4 is now & was blazing fast. I'm guessing you guys use a bunch of crappy apps that run in the background & hog your resources. I watch what runs in the back & avoid poorly coded apps like that. I'm on my 11th Android right now (N4) & 1GB has been & still is plenty. Over 100 apps on all of them. Just do your research & see how apps use your resources & you'll be fine.

With all that said. Yes, 2GB is nice to have. It's not necessary, but it's nice to not have to worry about it at all. Anything over 2GB, at this point, is just way over kill & you're spending your money on something for bragging rights only.
