Well if you want to root, I would do so before the update. There is no guarantee a JB root process will ever be released. You want to follow the instructions carefully and update SU,binaries and protect root with OTA rootkeeper before you update to JB to keep root.

It is great during the day, but can be a little bright at night by the bed. I have used some form of toggle for all of my phones so I don’t have to see them blinking at night. They are also looking into integrating this into their smart actions application so it can be toggled automatically

Yeah… I was also bummed to find this incompatible with my X2. Thanks again for totally abandoning this flakey, POS phone, MOTO. I keep my X2 on a desk dock by my bed at night. Because, the display is too bright (even with it dimmed), I turn the display off… but then the notification light flashes. It’s amazing how bright that light is in a dark room… very annoying. For nearly two years now, I’ve been draping my wallet over the phone on the dock every night just to block that stupid notification light. This app sounded GREAT… but alas, I can’t have it. Once again I’m reminded of what a poor choice I made to buy this phone. Unfortunately I’m stuck with it for a few more months until my current contract expires. Counting the days!

Or just force close the launcher and reopen. Just clearing the cache might even do it too.

Just ordered my Droid Razr Maxx HD today. Still wondering if I should root and then use OTA RootKeeper to try to update to Jellybean or update and wait for a root exploit. Any advice?

I just use swipe actions built into Nova. I swipe up to activate. No ugly icon on your screen!
