You sir are correct. They on purpose make it incredibly hard to speak with anyone, and while they do offer some support, they bury it in their support section. And on top of that, the turn around time on getting a reply from an email, is just abysmal, and I've waited over a week on multiple occasions. But, they are only a billion dollar company, I shouldn't expect them to be able to afford to have the best customer service known to man, that's just asking too much of such a small company.

And I surely don't get better support from companies that are either one or few people teams. Maybe if they one day get to have trillion dollar profit margins, maybe then they can have a robust call center, and a quick response time to emails, but that still might be asking too much I fear.

Yes, banks do cancel cards for taking precautions. When a database has been hacked or PIN numbers compromised or whatever the case may be. I have had it happen to me as have several other people with different cards. So yes, it happens. But if you guys don't like the Google Wallet physical card system, then don't use it. I guess you don't want the added convenience.

Banks don't just cancel credit cards on a whim, or for taking "precautions", whatever that is supposed to mean? They cancel them when you don't pay or have exceeded your limit. They might freeze them if they notice irregular or suspicious buying patterns, but you just call to have it reactivated by verifying your personal account information, and that is not the same thing as cancelling a credit card.

If they were British, Italian or French, they would be based in a true Nanny State, and they would be hampered by more rules, laws and regulations than they could shake a stick at. At least currently, they live in the last bastion for freedom in the world.

But as for a Google credit card so to speak, yeah, no frigging thanks! I love Android to death, but as a company, I don't much care or like how Google does business. They are the number one data miners, wanting to build an extremely detailed and horribly invasive profile on every man, woman, child and pet in the world. And they have shown consistently, and time and time again, to break privacy rules, regulations and most shockingly, laws, but they always get away with it. I'm not going to volunteer to let Google track my shopping habits, so they can use this as another tool to gather information to sell to advertisers, and or turn over information to law enforcement agencies or the government, like they already do more than any other company, with no transparency. But if someone wants to add another way in their life, for Google to keep tabs on them, feel free to sign up for this horrifying idea.

Its a restaurant from the 50's and the owner is cheap so we're still on dial up. I suppose it'd be faster otherwise. Even if the internet were faster it still really is inconvenient because you gotta run all of them and then close them all out later. To young people out there (I'm 26) why do you refuse to carry at least a little cash? Luckily our restaurant has a policy that we only accept a maximum of two cards. I actually take joy in breaking this news to a group of 6 douchebag kids who all try and hand me a deck of credit cards. There's an ATM across the street player. CARRY SOME CASH PEOPLE

I had to call about my prepaid card once. There was a call back over voice option and email. I think it may have been third party but someone was talking to me within 1 min of clicking the button and got my issue resolved. They even called me back and left a message confirming that things had been resolved.

Wow dude did you even read the article?

Google plans to distribute physical cards to users that can be programmed to mimic any major credit/debit card. Using your phone to program the card, you can decide which account of yours you want funds pulled from at time of the purchase

You tell it what to do. It just acts like whatever card you want it to be
