No apps2sd. Everything goes to internal storage, no option to move to external storage
Every Android tablet I’ve seen has this limitation.

External storage is handy if you have a lot of media.

Some apps cannot run from the SD ie: widgets. Also some apps don’t run well from the SD ie: games.

This is an awful deal, even with the microSD slot, when in a couple of weeks, you can get a 32 GB Nexus 7 with a much better screen, stock JellyBean with direct updates from Google for 20 dollars more. 1024×600 is awful.

And remember, this is from the same company who’s CEO last year said “Tablets are a fad that will die out in the next 10-12 months” Shows you what their level of commitment will be for support. No thanks.

This and the GTab 7.0 don’t compete with the Nexus 7. The Nexus 7 can play HD video while these can’t. That is a huge difference that makes them an apples to oranges comparison. They are two different classes of devices at the same price point. Which comes back to the micro SD card being the only selling feature of these devices.
If the GTab 7.0 had a 1280×800 screen I would have gone with that over the N7 in a heartbeat.

Apple has a lot going for them though. They have two devices, a phone and a tablet. They release a new tablet every year and a new phone every year. They release a new iOS version every year. Not a whole lot to keep track of.

Google’s problem is the plethora of OEMs with free reign on Android, plus the fact that nobody wants to stand up to carriers. Even Google has a hard time getting through to Verizon on Nexus devices (CDMA GNEX getting JB 2 months later). It’s just a mess and it needs cleaning up.

I’m not arguing that fragmentation is the biggest obstacle the android os faces. I think this device is a solid choice for the average blue collar new tablet owner who’ll pick one up at Walmart and casually use it. Those people really don’t care what version of android they have so long as it works well.

The biggest thing I hear the other crowd (iOS lovers) barking about is the fact that Android devices don’t all get the updates where iOS devices do. Frankly they are right. For this reason alone I am leaning harder on Nexus devices than anything else.

depends on whether you use the memory for media (easy go on SD) or apps (which some won’t run from SD).
