interesting to see the market change, and the complaining going with it.. being on these threads since launch I can scientifically say there would much more complaining were the software not jellybean vs the very slight hardware spec drop.. so i consider this a win for samsung

I don’t understand why this makes people mad? It is not being advertised as the next Android beast. Some people simply can not afford the higher end phones but it does’nt mean they should’nt have the oppourtunity to own a decent phone. I love Android and it’s community but some of you people need to get a grip.

I agree, I just like the size of the phone. I’m glad something appealing is coming out at the 4″ish size, that’s not the RAZR M finally. So much so that if this has an LTE radio in it I’m buying it and changing carriers in the US.

Because lower storage makes you stream a lot more, and with Verizon and ATT tiered data plans, it is going to cost more money to stream stuff than store it. Streaming music over Gplay can eat a lot of data istead of just keeping it on your phone. Not to mention HD videos your camera takes eats a crapload of memory, over a GB for 10 minutes of hd video. Not to mention streaming videos on your browser, youtube, and those who watch movies and tv shows and plug it in to their tv sets with an hmi to hdmi adapter.
Data is getting more expensive for those without unlimited and less storage is costing more to people who are going to have to stream everything instead of storing it.

I think this device would be more deserving of its name if it had at least a 1.2GHz S4 and a 1700mAh battery in the least. Oh well, at least it will run Jelly Bean despite its specs, unlike the Acer A100 and A500.

But then you could potentially get the mini for free. Some people don’t want to pay for a phone.
Personally I would opt for the M if I had to choose between the two. But just saying price point is an important driver.

How is this a SGS3 mini? It doesn’t have the same specs as the S3. It’s a completely different phone. Properly it should have the same specs with just a smaller screen.

No doubt. The S3 is good but too big for many. Choice is good.
