It will have LG’s new” high density” 2150 mAy battery. The battery is lasting really long on the Optimus G and should be even better on a Nexus device running straight Google.

Very true. I’m excited overall to see what Google has to offer. If they don’t have a new Nexus I want then I can wait a year and save some money. I don’t need a new phone every year. In any case, Google will come out with 4.2 which will be enough for me as long as I can enjoy it without new hardware (like when they added NFC capabilities).

That’s probably true, but from what I’ve been seeing lately it’s like Google sees manufacturers’ products and then starts talking to them about basing a Nexus device off of the hardware of said product, like Asus’ budget tablet which turned into the Nexus 7 and the Optimus G which is almost the same as this device. I highly doubt that no LTE is a requirement, and if it is it’s pretty much suicide.

From what I understand, Google does set some requirements for the Nexus program and the manufacturers are allowed to compete on non-prescriptive design/hardware fronts. I’d hope these are minimum requirements though but things like not including an SD card slot I think are requirements.

That’s true! But fortunately that sounds more like what Apple would do if they had an open-source program, not Google. ;P I’m still hoping for that rumored HTC Nexus with the same specs as the dlx! That’d be more than enough to get me to switch from my GNex.

I like to replace the battery with a fresh one after the first year with the device. It makes a noticeable difference.

I don’t see how this is much improvement over my galaxy nexus. Besides the camera, and processor its downgrades itself with losing LTE and having very limited space at 8 GB or 16 GB. This has to be a phone that doesn’t get released here. With the loss of LTE itself it can’t really be regarded as a NEXUS proudly. If it had those specs plus 32 GB and LTE then this would be a winner but as it stands now….if multiple manufacturers are making a nexus I’ll be waiting for the motorola or Samsung variant. Hoping they do better than what LG has done. They’ve disgraced the NEXUS name if you ask me.
