I absolutely agree with you Timothy. I had a lot of naysayers when I bought this. Frankly, I thought there would have been more buzz in regards to the Xoom.
So, here it is a year and a half later and I’m now running Jelly Bean 4.1 and the rest are either still running Honeycomb or even Gingerbread still.
How cool is that?

I hate Motorola for not upgrading the Xoom Family Edition and who would buy it from me if the bootloader is locked, we can’t even install custom roms, sucks that they do not care about a specific timeline on updates and some get it, some don’t after we spent the money.

As per my experience, you may have to be unrooted (maybe temporarily unrooted) to apply the OTA. It failed on my 100% stock and rooted 4.0.4 OS. Update only took after unrooting.

Returned my Galaxy Tab 10.1 for this and I love it! That was over a year ago and this thing still gets all the updates before almost everyone!

Turned on my XOOM at 8:00 pm central time. Seemed to be a little slow. Then I checked and Jelly Bean was being downloaded. I am now on a XOOM jelly bean. I love it. I think Google search will take some time to see how to get the most of it. But so far so good.
