I’ve been thinking about a trip to the zoo, so maybe I’ll use testing this as an excuse.

As it stands now, I can’t zoom into any of the buildings either on my phone or the web (not sure you can do indoor on the web, anyway). I also tried the Natural History and Air & Space (Udvar-Hazy) and couldn’t get indoor to show up for them, either.

The weekend following Google I/O I noticed that all of my local Home Depot stores had indoor maps. I was aware that some airports and malls had them, but I don’t now how long they’ve been there for other places. Now I learned from blog referenced in the article that there may be other stores, like Macy’s, Bloomingdales, and Ikea that have indoor maps, too.

i just tried it for the de Young and can’t get the indoor map working . . .

SFO indoor map works fine.

How exactly does indoor mapping work? If you can’t get a GPS signal does it just rely on tower triangulation and the accelerometer?

I tried to use this while in Vegas because all of the Casino’s are mapped, but its just not that easy to use! It loaded great, and told me where I was. But finding where I wanted to go was another story!
