why do i keep buying samsund androids? there are always radio issues love the phone but hate to talk on them. so as for the real question in your opinions why are there so many issues with the radios on the samsung androids for verizon?

To me it seems like the lcd 2 display is the brightest out there, but you sacarifice color quality, Lcd 2 seems washed out. Super amoled on the otherhand had really rich colors, however lacks the ability to get as bright. Thats how i see them

I started with a Moto OG Droid, liked it but didn’t get why everyone loved moto so much. Since then I’ve had HTC and Samsung devices. Moto tends to have great physical build quality, and no one comes even close to matching them on radios. Not sure if it is just Verizon that they have mastered radios for, but no one else is close.

When are you going to update the Droid Life app. It always force closes on my nexus and anytime you open up a Page in the browser it goes to a notice orange website, polls don’t work, and you can’t read comments!

Who or what big industry names have surprised you by acknowledging Droid Life? Was it cool thinking, “we’ve hit the big time! XXXXX mentioned us on their site!” or “XXXXX says they’ve heard of us, how saweet!!”

Thought of another question: Are there any specs you’d be willing to trade in order to bring the price of a phone down, or give you better battery life? For example, would you be willing to get a phone with a lower resolution, slower chip, 1gb of ram instead of 2, etc so that the phone would be cheaper or the battery last longer?

What planet are you living on where Android is behind the pack for display tech? Android handsets are the ones pushing the envelope. And yes, Apple essentially tells LG which of their display types they want and at what size and resolution. Apple doesn’t come up with any of the tech for it; no more than Motorola came up with the Samsung tech for their SAMOLED HD display (or Apple for the New iPad display, etc.). There are a very few companies actually designing display tech (not specs, mind); the biggest being Samsung, Sharp, and LG (others of note, but Apple is certainly not among them).

Just because Apple didn’t invent/perfect/have freaking anything to do with the tech in their LG/Samsung/Sharp screens, Samsung NAND, Sony cameras, etc., doesn’t mean the parts in the 4S are bad. Apple actually pulls some good parts from the bin, and they give manufacturers some great-but-realistic specs to fill (albeit their screen is too small).

And for the record, I don’t care for the 4/4S screen, nor the LG Spectrum screen (have you actually seen it? It’s a larger iPhone 4 screen, FYI). I’m very sold on SAMOLED.

I think that’s a good idea. Since the Galaxy Nexus came through everyone realized that this site is no longer devoted only to droids. Merge them. Cover every thing. DL covers a bunch of tech stuff (pretty much anything from google).

I think you and many other people need to do some homework. It isn’t just as easy as well, “Samsung, lg, and sony make apples displays so theirs are just as good”. Don’t be so niece. There is a lot more that goes into display tech than just the LCD display. Apple employes an absolute all star team of display tech professionals (I’m sure they have a name but dont know it off hand). They have more of a hand in making these displays then you or other think. Also these companies only manufacture these displays that doesn’t mean they necessarily create them. It is a team. Then there are many other factors that go into how a display is perceived. Like for an example A higher quality backlight or color gamers. Put an iPhone or especially a new iPad next to an lg display like on the spectrum there is no contest. They may be made by the same manufacturer but def don’t have the same parts. They get together and get parts and make a plan. You can’t just dig a whole and farm displays. I don’t see how people don’t understand this. It has become some fan boy excuse for lame display tech in the android world and now that these manufacturers are finally making displays that compete with the iPhones retina now all of a sudden it matters. It is actually really interesting look into it instead of just spewing out some bs you have seen on the net and get some common sense.
