ive seen all of those. 6 roms with barely any differentiation is not what id call a healthy development community. look at the last updates on them too – codename hasnt been updated in 2 months, EOS and gummy in 1. cm9 and aokp are nearly the same (not completely, but close). healthier that some devices? sure. not very lively though.

Yes, i’m aware of that. Many have done that from what i’ve read online. I’m going to wait because Honeycomb will do for now. I just recieved ICS 4.0.4 on my Nexus S and i’m liking it so far, makes me want it even more now for my Xoom but i can wait. I’m fairly new to Andriod and i haven’t yet experimented with rooting ect., i will get into it one day though. Probably after i buy a new phone or tab, then i can use my old one as a guinea pig and gain some confidence that way. Until then the thought of bricking my device gives me the willies. Thank for your advice though, much appreciated !

No joke. I didnt really like stock Honeycomb all that much. It was clunky and slow. ROM’s helped but ICS is so much better.

Purchased mine on wifi launch day 03-27-2011… one year later and this thing is still a beast! Definitely a ‘daily driver’… the performance gain in going from Honeycomb to Ice Cream Sandwich was like going from a Ford to a Ferrari.

you could always root and rom with stock builds. You can even find the system files through the moto dev site and flash it to US version.

Not me. I’ve had both for an extended period of time and would pick the xoom hands down. In fact I sold the transformer and purchased a galaxy tab 10.1 to replace it, but kept the xoom too. I prefer the galaxy tab for web browing and stuff like that, but the xoom is great for on the go media entertainment. It has 32 GB on board and can accept a 64 GB sd card, as well as having a built in hdmi port. The screen is better on the transformer, but that is the only advantage that it holds, and that is only true if you get one without extreme light bleeding.

In what way is this Groupon’s fault? They’re not going to offer the Xoom for $150 and take a loss on everyone they sell. I understand your point, but it’s not like Groupon are getting these for $100 and then putting the $340 price tag on them. Use your brain…

Ordered it the day it came out because Motorola had the 25% off “mistake” since it was classified as “accessory”. I liked it but I sold it when the ASUS TF101 came out. I am much happier. $340 is a lot for its age.

Bought my WiFi Xoom 15 months ago – and have had ICS since January and 4.04 for about a month. It has been the best tech purchase I have every made – and I paid $600 – it is just too convenient. I have a 22″ desktop, 18″ laptop, 12″ chromeos, 9″ asuseee and both nexus phones – but the Xoom and ICS is the best combination – from all horizontal positions
