So Kellex, what is in that “Developer options” section they put in there?
http://twitter.com/BrianLipp Brian Lippman
its where they put all the usb debugging stuff for making apps and testing them on a device. it also has the “force graphics acceleration” option and other things to show you where you are touch and when the screen is updating
Anthony Etter
Well GPS works without wifi, wifi works with GPS/Bluetooth simultaneously now. No lagg, no sluggishness. I kept saying GPS and wifi/bluetooth was primarily software related. No problem ehh?
Anthony
The fact that there isn’t a recall due to the hardware being an issue is BS and the FCC should consider it illegal.
http://profiles.google.com/vinnieallard Vincent Allard
There’s nothing wrong with it… Mine works great. It’s only in isolated incidents. I’m not happy about the new version coming out either, but It’s 100 more, and the screen is better and thats about it.
Anthony
But no one is considering this, a resolution of that many pixels will kill battery life, so take about 3 hours from battery life off. Is it really worth $100 for a screen and a fix to the issues already present? We should be allowed to send our tablets in and get the new backing…
QtDL
This sounds reasonable. Why don’t you call up Asus CS and discuss it with them? It may be covered under the warranty.
http://twitter.com/Skitz_Marz Alex Gandero
lol my transformer lasts me up to 6 days on a single charge. If 3 hours is lost, im sure i wont notice it
Anthony
Is there a skin overlay to the ICS version? Can we disable this skin like the Android Engineer said a couple months ago?
http://profiles.google.com/vinnieallard Vincent Allard
Very minimal overlay… basically just the soft keys. They have that white asus look to them that you can see above. That’s all that I noticed on mine.
Anthony
They said that we could disable the ASUS overlay completely. Is there an option to do this?
Anonymous
probably disable the launcher in the settings, not sure though.
Anthony Vella
You can actually completely remove the overlay without reloading also! That is probably my favorite feature because I basically now have a Nexus tablet
Anonymous
How exactly do you do that? Specifics?

Nice psot realluy nice ! Good work!
MarshalD
Is that Troy, Ohio?
Joelseph
Sweet – hopefully they come through with the update on the TF101 soon! : )
Anonymous
I hate the skin, seriously what is wrong with the STOCK buttons? Why do manufacturers always change these buttons when they looked perfectly fine before?
Raven
I personally prefer the look of the ASUS buttons to stock. Each to their own. I have read that the ASUS customizations can be easily turned off, but I do not know any more about it than that.
Anthony Vella
Every customization can be turned off, I love it

My prime is on the way, could you tell me or point me to the steps and possible apps to unlock, root, and rootkeep? Thanx much.
http://www.imigyled.com LED Strip
yeah! waiting for the bionics ICS update.
http://facebook.com/nyvz9lyvz Jamison Harvey
Hope you like waiting.
FortitudineVincimus
Check your GPS.. apparently, the first GPS fiasco was not enough and now they apparently gave GPS a lobotomy and removed the ability to turn it on and use it. It looks to be gone from the quick settings menu and well as not being able to turn it on in the settings or see it in GPS Test.
You must be f****** kidding me. Now they decided for us that we cannot even have it??
Ryan C
What!? I actually like that customized notifications panel. Although i didnt always use GPS before it was cool to have it on there. any way we can put that back in with some mod? and does that mean that GPS is removed if the gps.config file is removed?
http://profiles.google.com/gonnadie4thegov Jeremy Wray
turn on/off gps is still in the settings menu and the symbol also came on in the status bar
and the moto xoom developer device strikes again… well maybe “in the coming months” we can get this too.. I wish manufactures would release the info need for the devs to be able to put together custom roms with working cameras and the baseband so we could get 4g working. There have been ICS roms avaible for the wifi version for a few weeks now (minus the camera of course) created by the community and if they had the camera and baseband we would already have fully running ICS on the device that’s supposed to get the updates as they become avaible and not months later.
Awfredricks
damn. nice job Asus.
Xray49er
Heads Up, if you’re rooted make sure to run rootkeeper before the update and after the update
Raven
I have already done this in preparation for the upgrade to ICS on my OG Transformer. Can you confirm that running Rootkeeper worked fine with the Prime? Did you unroot first or just let the upgrade run and then reroot?
Adam Horowitz
i randomly get bars across the screen… anyone else having this problem?
LTE4G
Still waiting for my Prime, dang it!!!
Tmooey
simple question… anyone able to set browser agent to desktop by default after the upgrade? i cant find the option…. And i mean for all websites, not just the one that you are currently on…
Anonymous
Top right in browser (4 parallel lines).
Tmooey
Na that only does the site you are currently on (request desktop site). before the upgrade you could set the default agent to desktop which didnt require you to request desktop for each site you visit
Kelly
Yeah looks like they removed user agent which is a shame
Kelly
Forgot to mention that the about:debug trick still works (enter about:debug in URL bar and hit enter, then when you go into settings there are additional options visible, including ua string)
?????? for the prime?? I have the 32GB Champagne prime and received my update last night. did you check for the update under settings>about tablet> firmware
Anonymous
I meant i still don’t have the tablet. i pre-ordered from best buy a long time ago and still haven’t received anything.
asus_uk said that the og would get it days after the original date the prime was supposed to get it which they said the 12th for the prime and the 14th for the og

Correct me if i am wrong but doesnt the prime have a skin over honeycomb (and perhaps now ics) ?
bbalz
Yes, along with every other tablet, minus the Xoom.
Anonymous
So is there one over ICS on the Prime?
AndroidFan
Alright, ICS on my Eee Pad Transformer Prime. Waiting for the update on my Galaxy S2 now!!!
Amber
Stuck on 99% downloaded for about 10 minutes now.
Guest
why the hell would you want facial unlock on the tablet? does anyone actually use it on the phone itself?
Scip
It was a touted feature i want. Dont troll my post nub.
Anonymous
Can we get a video overview of Ice Cream Sandwich on a tablet? I think most of us know what ICS looks like on a phone, but this is the first tablet that comes to mind that has ICS.
Anonymous
I’ve got both a Galaxy Nexus and a Transformer Prime and it looks pretty much the same on both. Really the only major differences are visible in those screenshots.
http://www.getintonursing.com/ Jon
It’s pretty much just like Honeycomb, except with the ability to swipe away apps from the recent apps list. That plus all of the not so obvious features of ICS. (Folders, Camera, App refinements).
I’m running it on my Acer Iconia A500 tablet. A great tablet with an amazing developer, Thor.
http://www.getintonursing.com/ Jon
ICS browser kicks ass compared to Honeycomb. Very fast and very accurate.
Scip
just upgraded to ics. There is no facial recognition security feature. Gg asus.
raed jarjees
anyone can find the face unlock option ?
http://www.facebook.com/people/Nick-Hartman/620822957 Nick Hartman
This installs fine on a rooted Prime, but root is removed after the update.
Also, this bumps the maximum core clock up to 1600MHz, according to AnTuTu Benchmark.
http://www.facebook.com/LuisElTiburon Luis Rojas
My girlfriend took the tablet to work to use during her break. She wont be home for 3 hours FML
Anonymous
Biggest difference is speed…this thing is just faster. Also wifi has better speed…haven’t been able to check range yet. Camera improved yet again.
http://twitter.com/DaCatalyst Clayton Anderson
That’s good to hear. WIFI is what I’m concerned about. Does it usually drop wifi connecton?
Kelly
definitely seems faster overall, havent noticed any wifi issues, but I never had them in the first place
Anonymous
Never had dropped wifi in the past…just did range check and it now beats my bionic…Def improved wifi…as is GPS.overall I really think this is why the prime had so many issues at launch because it was designed for ics.
Matt
ICS on a tablet is awesome…it responds so much faster than HC.
Anonymous
had it on my xoom since christmas day. You couldnt be more correct.
Pmcdeed
Looking good also seems faster!
raed jarjees
just upgraded 15 min ago …cant see the face unlock any ideas ?
http://twitter.com/samari711 samari711
so it’s not just me…

I’m Not Positive But I Don’t Think The Prime Has An HD Front Camera… It’s Needed To Actually Function (Properly)
http://twitter.com/pbolton70 Paul Bolton
Yea I had to check for updates. I did it the minute I saw Twitter light up that it was rolling out.
Anthony Vella
I am receiving my Prime on Wednesday and I wanted to know something, how do I set it to stock Android or where the skin is removed because the Android Engineer confirmed that this device would have the ability to disables ASUS launcher and basically run stock.
http://www.facebook.com/JosephWoodward33 Joe Woodward
where is my Xoom ICS?!?!
DroidzFX
Thank you devs for giving us something Moto could not. Moto thank you for the OG droid and that is all.
Anonymous
So much for the xoom supposedly being a Google experience device.. Fml
Jroc869, Cool story bro
Actually because of this you might be getting a true google experience. I love the Android os but sometines google really pisses me off
Anonymous
Why dont you go get a ICS ROM for it? Theyre already out.
I cant confirm or deny that ICS is currently in soak test for Wi-Fi Xoom’s. Verizon Xoom’s…..have to wait for Verizon to bless off on it.
AndroidFan
Are you prompted for an update or do you do in a different way?
Anonymous
I went to settings, then about tablet, then system firmware update, and hit “check update”.
AndroidFan
Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuu, I did it and it’s downloading right now. thank man!
http://twitter.com/Urboyissues Yourissues
What do you guys think about ICS on a tablet? How different is it from on the Nexus? I mean just how different is it from Honeycomb? I can’t wait to get my Prime !!
Adam Horowitz
the biggest difference i see between honeycomb and ics is speed. browser is wicked fast. camera is improved too. besides that, the differences aren’t very big.
AndroidFan
REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m updating RIGHT AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://twitter.com/pbolton70 Paul Bolton
Now lets see how many things this update breaks….lol But its worth getting ICS even if it does break something
Matt
UPS delivered my Prime about an hour ago, and now i am getting ICS. Too much awesome, cant take it….
Anonymous
Nice timing heh.
Bigsike
Haha ours must have been on the same truck lol.
Chewybang
Same here, it’s like Christmas part deux!
http://profiles.google.com/gonnadie4thegov Jeremy Wray
Mine came today also
http://twitter.com/DaCatalyst Clayton Anderson
Please let us know if you’re having the wifi issues. I still think this is the device I want, but not when wifi is it’s only means of connectivity.
Hll7575
I have been following the Prime for months, and got mine 2 days agao. I am pretty sure that the VERY EARLY batch of Prime had the WiFi issue, then Asus quickly corrected it (thus the delay of shipments). My unit has NO WiFi issue, with clear signal at least 25-30 feet away from the router, on different floors (upstairs or in the basement from the main floor). ICS definitely makes the Prime an even better experience, and the update is swift and fast.
10yck
Mine was delivered last night as well. Now ICS. How awesome is that!!
Anthony
I get mine tomorrow
http://twitter.com/Urboyissues Yourissues
Is it sweet?
Nick V
A few minor updates, to widgets and whatnot. Settings menu has also changed for the better.
Anonymous
Yep, it boots much faster than honeycomb did.
Nick V.
Just updated. Looking Good!
http://twitter.com/pbolton70 Paul Bolton
Yep mine is updating now. Getting some ICS love
http://twitter.com/dewguzzler Jesse Perkins
need a dump for the TF101 if anyone has one
Seannyboy39
come on Motorola WTF.
Anonymous
I take it Motorola is to blame for the Xoom-which is a developer device-not having officially ICS?
And just where do developer devices get their updates from?
