Yes Folks, December 15 is Verizon’s New Target for the Galaxy Nexus

galaxy nexus verizon back

We reported this yesterday, but will say it one more time for those that missed it in the random XYBOARD post. Verizon is telling ALL employees, stores, managers, and indirects that December 15 is the new target just like they did with December 9. Not much else to say, cross your fingers that we have zero 4G outages and inventory levels pick up between now and then. Rumors of this Sunday or Monday or Tuesday are flying around forums, but that’s not what stores are being told. If those happen, you should be surprised.

  • VERIZON SUX

cricket mobile anyone?  guarantee within the next couple of years verizon will not be top dog..  its funny i thought verizon was supposed to have gnex first but you can buy the none 4g version a week after the convention…  im so bitter right now

    • http://twitter.com/Skitz_Marz Alex Gandero

lol because the Nexus isn’t out yet, Verizon is a bad phone company? You really think Cricket will be faster and more reliable? Good Luck!

  • Matthew Potter

Verizon just release a new Droid Razr ad campaign today. No wonder they don’t want this phone to come out.

  • davetheAndroid

I called 611 today and spoke with a rep as well. Of course would not confirm anything regarding the Gnex. I have an upgrade on 1/12/12 and have been trying to get them to give me an early upgrade for when the phone hits. The best I could get out of the rep is some form of replacement phone since I am within 30 days of my upgrade (or will be on Tuesday).
Of course I threatened to buy the Euro version and go to AT&T but I’m not sure even I can sound convincing saying I want to go back to AT&T.
Anyways I did end up lecturing the rep on how thoroughly disgusted I am at a mega company like Verizon being so tight lipped on a AAA phone (Android 4.0 makes it so) after announcing it months ago. I said there are alot of people who are very disgusted with how they are handling this this situation and hope they report this to corporate.
I know they don’t care but atleast I got to bitch at them :)

  • VERIZON SUX

THEY USE THE EXCUSE THEY WANT IT TO BE PERFECT BEFORE THEY PUT IT OUT.. BULLLLL  WHAT ABOUT THE THUNDERBOLT AND BIONIC THEY BOTH SUCK AND HAD ISSUES AFTER THE RELEASE AND MANY MANY MANY MANY DELAYS.. KISS MY ASS VERIZON I HOPE SOMEONE FROM THE CORPORATION READS THIS POST… A BUNCH OF LIARS

    • Alpha4005

      they lost exclusivity

    • MNeighbo2

Don’t put the Bionic in the same category as the TBolt. It’s a hell of a lot better than it and unless you own the Bionic, you shouldn’t say it sucks. I own it and it’s the best Droid I’ve owned. It’s bad ass. I haven’t had any issues with mine at all.

  • SCREW VERIZON WIRELESS

screw this phone all set with it verizon sucks you know a better faster phone will drop in february….  they just want to lock all of us in with a new contract befor 2012 hits..  verizon can suck my big ol brashole….   and yes ”  IM MAD BRO”

    • davetheAndroid

hey! you noticed the caps lock was on eh?  :)

      • VERIZON SUX

just wanted to show how pissed off i am lol

    • Kenahn Ghazal

Tegra 3 chip phones in febuary/march, but they won’t compare to the galaxy nexus.

  • Anonymous

I can confirm that stores currently have these in stock right now. However, they are not allowed to show or tell customers about it. My guess is that they are waiting to get a little more stock from now until next week. The 15th is pretty much a certainty this time.

  • ClarkGris

Talked to a Verizon manager this afternoon outside of Detroit. He said Verizon requested all stock that was shipped out this past week be returned. Apparently they are changing to a “chip set that is more readily available”. I have no idea what that means but it sounds like a coverup story Verizon is telling their stores. Anyways, he didn’t have any information on the new release date.

    • Anonymous

That is the most ridiculous excuse I’ve heard thus far. Doesn’t even make sense. Google/Samsung build a phone, Verizon fully aware of specs, say they want different hardware after it has been produced, and send all the phones back for new chip sets?? I’m still guessing it’s the legal snafu between Verizon and Google over Google Wallet. I hope for all our sakes that was total BS he told you.

Fandroids(FAMILY) i need you help with this poll on android vs ios http://hypebeast.com/2011/12/polls-android-vs-ios/

iDONT “all the new feature on new i*hone my old android does”

  • Anonymous

Seems to me that Verizon is playing this thing just right.  Calling my local Verizon store (knowing the answer) to check on the release…and after getting the expected “no”, the young lady told me tons of calls have been coming in for this phone.

Hyping the phone via leaked e-mails and twitter posts seems to be making this phone THE next big thing without spending a dime on advertising…

    Bravo Verizon

    • Anonymous

MMS has been supported since Donut, 1.6, if memory serves.

    • http://twitter.com/Skitz_Marz Alex Gandero

lol this is not iOS. of course it does

  • Mikewoods94

anyone know where to find the driver for the gnex?

  • Rayayip

I went to my local Best Buy this morning and approached a BB Mobile saleswoman and casually asked “Can you check to see if I’m due for an upgrade?  Do you guys have the Samsung Galaxy Nexus?”  She responded with a yes.  I asked if there was a floor model I could look at and she said “We just got a shipment last night, so it’s not out here yet.”  She then looks up my information, says I’m eligible for an upgrade and that she’ll be right back.

I’m waiting there with bated breath while she emerges with a Samsung Galaxy Nexus box in her hand and she goes to speak to another salesperson.  She comes back and says “unfortunately I can’t sell it to you until Sunday.”  I ask “Really?” and with a look she says “yes sir.”

Two hours later I called Best Buy and stated “I came up there this morning and a saleswoman said that the Galaxy Nexus will be available for sale This Sunday but I’ve been reading online reports that the soonest date it will be available will be the 15th.”  She responded with a “No sir, it will be available on Sunday.”

    Just my little tidbit……

    • Mikehen08

I just came back from Radio Shack where I had one on hold for me. The women was about to sell it to me until the district manager happened to see us and said she wasnt allowed to sell it. Same freaking guy named Seng in MikeWoods94’s screenshots. I was cockblocked. But she called their Verizon rep who said the 14th or 15th and didnt know why it was delayed.

    • Anonymous

Haha, nice try. I wonder how many people actually managed to get one today…

  • Jamarcus White

Some should of tried and bought one at full retail….I know some noob would of slipped up and sold it. Walk in a buy off contract….Just give me the hardware buddy and nobody gets hurt.

    • Hulioni

I tried to buy one this morning from the verizon store here in town (over the phone). I asked if they had any in stock and she told me no. She told me that she would have to order it and it would take a couple days. I then asked her what the full retail price was and she told me the same that is posted everywhere on the net, $649. It took her a few minutes to find the full retail and asked the manager where it was. They both finally found it in the computer. I proceeded to go on with the order when in the background I heard the manager tell her that they don’t know how to go about ordering at the retail non contract price. This was one of the strangest conversations to say the least. Nothing makes any sense at all. Don’t know how to order a phone? Damn I wish they had a couple in stock as I am sure this nice young lady would have had me out the door with a gnex. If I wasnt still on unlimited, or had someone other than verizon in this area I would jump ship. I’m stuck with them though, and still without my Nexus. Just thought it was an interesting way things went down. She could order me one and have it there in a couple days, just not at full price? But there was no mention what so ever that they were not to sell them. Someone has to get lucky and walk out with one today.

  • Anonymous

I saw mine, its on reserve 2 miles from my house. 15th or whatever, Ill be getting the call to come pick it up whenever Verizon gives the green light. Rock on! G-Nex is on the horizon!!

  • http://twitter.com/bababooey630 Grant Law

Naperville, IL here. I called my local verizon store here and they finally told me TENTATIVELY the 15th. Every other time (including 9th) release, they never gave me a release date. They also don’t have them in stock. I’ll take that with a grain of salt, but still encouraging to hear them give me an actual release date.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_TKOZOAALL65O3TBXK7LYFWCDII Dan

Great Now I know I’m not the only nerd waiting for this phone in Naperville… is it the one on 59?

  • Anonymous

It will not install from market and you can install it from the many packages floating around XDA

  • http://www.facebook.com/Pengwnmastr Mitchell Johnson

I went into the three Verizon stores in my area today hoping I’d get some new employee to sell me the Nexus based off the last 12/9 launch date.

Store 1: Got delayed, Just got done reading an email from corporate that the new date is the 15th.
Store 2: It got delayed, indefinitely.
Store 3: Yeah, we got the Nexus in stock yesterday. *Manager comes over* Sorry to get your hopes up, it was delayed and we don’t know a new release date.. But we have RAZR’s over here.

I was sooooo close. I held it in my hand!
When I told the manager at store 3 that I wasn’t interested in the RAZR, he asked me why. I responded with “Locked bootloader, bloatware, non-HD Pentile screen(yes I know it’s better then the bionic’s but I can still see it), Verizon controles the updates which means you won’t see 5.0 (or whatever the next ‘J’ OS is), and a non-removable battery. Yep.. It’s pretty one sided.”

  • Mikewoods94

time to unlock the boot loader….

    • Anonymous

Do me a favor, check for google wallet and if it isn’t installed, try to install it from the Market. Just want to test that.

      • Mikewoods94

        will do 1 sec….

      • Anonymous

And if that doesn’t work, give one of those drones a call at the corp store and ask them how to do it! I’d just like to hear what they’d say.

      • Mikewoods94

no google wallet period, on phone or market

  • http://www.joshuanaylor.com Joshua Naylor

I was so close… so very very close to getting one! Costco I got the cold shoulder – he straight up lied to me that they didn’t have them in stock (I could tell) so then I went to a Radioshack – the guy was a second away from selling it to me before he realized it wasn’t ready for release!

He did tell me the 15th for sure – but the way things have been going, that could all change.

    • Anonymous

I called all the Radio Shacks in my area in hopes of getting a moron. My attempt failed as none of them have it in stock yet. They do see it on their shipping docs, but it hasn’t hit the store just yet. Sigh….

    • Mikehen08

How did he realize it wasnt ready for release?

      • http://www.joshuanaylor.com Joshua Naylor

I was going to avoid telling this b/c I feel like an idiot for it. Ok, so I go in there at 10AM today. No one’s in there besides one clerk. I ask him about it – he has clearly never heard of it, so he goes to his computer to look it up. After about 60 seconds, he says, “Yep, I’ve got one coming in today”. “One”, I said, “Is that normal to receive only one at a time?”… anyway… I tell him that I am getting two of these – for my wife and I. He tells me he’ll call some other stores to see if anyone else has one. He tells me he’ll call me back when his shipment arrives.

So he called me back at 11:30 and said, “Ok – I’ve got your phone here, ready for you to come buy. But I also called another store and they have another one that I’m going to go get for you.” I hesitantly say, “Great!” knowing that the other store may inform him of the release date.

Sure enough – he calls back at 1:00 and says, “I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is I have two Galaxy Nexus’ for you – the bad news is, I can’t sell them to you until the 15th.”

I play totally dumb to try and appeal to his sympathy hoping he might break down and sell them to me. In the end, the answer was no – but when I asked if I could come down and take a look he said yeah.

So I went (all the while, I’m leaving work to do all of this!) and part of me was thinking I could talk him into selling me one. But then he said A) It won’t activate (which I’m not entirely sure I believe) and B) He could lose his job over it.

He did say the 15th as a firm date – so I’m really hoping that stays true – I really don’t like that AndroidAndMe article stating the 31st.

Moral of the story is – had I not been greedy and tried to get two, there’s a good chance I’d have a nexus in my possession right now.

        • http://droiddev.co.cc CuriousCursor

And that he would’ve lost his job lol

I am waiting to hear back from a woman at the Shach too. They are only getting one and she said its mine. Hopefully no one informs her that she cant sell it lol

          • Mikehen08

            Shack**

        • EmoMorales

You wouldn’t have gotten it. I came just as close, upgrade passed and everything. It was when he tried to ring it up, the SKU wouldn’t pass. He calls his VZW rep and finds out he can’t sell (said they were stern about it). I asked if he could do a manual sale and he said not with cell phones (and, “I could go to jail…”)

    • Anonymous

Why has everyone else been able to touch the sexiness that is GNex except me?? Who do I have to flirt with/flash to get my hands on this damn thing? I was being so nice to the VZW drone this morning at the store and politely asked if I could see the demo unit for a few minutes…..all I got to see were the accessories. :(

    • Dipcam17

Might want to get a little better at photoshopping first. Those slightly jagged lines in the profile pic gave you away.

Thinking about putting the galaxy nexus up on ebay (verizon) for $650 which means I would basically get it for free any takers?

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_NOCGF4INNLYCJEREG3YUPZEF7Q Randy

Yo Kellex. I was at a verizon store today and decided to throw this post up on every phone in the store, because i was pissed i guess. Anyway the manager told me they wanted to release it closer to christmas to try and boost sales for whatever that is worth.  He took me to the side and talked very low, so other customers would not hear.  By the way the customers in the store are all dumb, guy was like ya i heard the bionic is a great phone but want a keyboard so the sales guy showed him the D3. I peeped in and said wait for the D4, he said what is that. lol

I’ll believe it when I see it.

By the time this phone is released it will be outdated. Thanks Verizon.

Fine with me…Championship baby!  Finally the Angels are the in the national spotlight…Arguably one of the best starting pitcher rotations in the league

Its the beginning of a grand era for the Angels.  Unreal!

        • Hans

as an LA resident i have to say,  pujols will probably be in decline in 2-3 yeras and you’ll have a $25 million dollar a year salary albatross on your roster .  its happening to A. Rod right now.  but i do have to say i give credit to angels ownership as they are going to spend the money and there is no salary cap in baseball so if money is no object well… then thats fine.  but they really better win soon, since im sure they will think about being cheap about further signings if pujols is a “bad contract” on their books in a few years.

Hope you stocked up on some Chipot-laway.

Just had a chance to play with it in the store. 2 things that I don’t like:

1.) I do not like the application drawer going from apps straight into widgets when swiping through the menu. Instead of starting over with the first screen when you reach the end of the apps, the screen continues into the widgets which really doesn’t make sense to me.
2.) It was a little sluggish IMO. It glitched a bit moving from screen to screen within the application drawer which isn’t a huge deal but worth noting.

I asked the Rep in the store why the wait? His response was because they are having the same issue with the phone getting hot as the Bionic did when it was delayed. He said he believes it is ICS related but wasn’t 100% sure. This wasn’t Verizons official statement and I asked if that was their take and did corporate say that. He said no, but we have had the phone for a week now and the issues appear to be pointing to the same issues they had for the Bionic.

The Rep I spoke with was in his mid 20’s and had 3 phones rooted with 2 of them with CM7. We nerded out a bit over the differences in the RAZR and the Rezound compared to the G-Nex. Here were the scores from the phone using Quadrant.

    1.) G-Nex stock pulled a 1576
    2.) Thunderbolt O/C to 1804 – 3102
    3.) Razr stock – 2544

The G-Nex was getting write delays in the I/O department and took at least 15 seconds to get through that portion of the benchmark. The FPS were horrendous compared to the other phones. Head up with the RAZR it got owned. With an overclocked Thunderbolt it was no where in the same league. I assume this will only get better as patches come out, but I figured I would share with the community my findings.

Ill be happy to answer as many questions as I can as I only got 5 minutes to play with the phone and tried to do as much as I could with it while in hand.

    • Dominick DeVito

which version was it running? 4.0.1, 4.0.2, or 4.1?

      • Anonymous

        It was running 4.0.1

        • Dominick DeVito

thanks – I think 4.1 fixes a whole bunch of issues.

          • Anonymous

I will say this, he did his best to try and convince me that the RAZR was far better just because of the Quadrant scores. One thing is for sure, I love how I only have to press 1 button to get the menu’s within the browser rather than 2 on my bionic to get to the same menu. That was a bonus for me. The phone did make things simple which was a plus. It really is a sexy phone.

          • Dominick DeVito

The Razr’s a great phone – not taking anything away from it. But I would imagine VZW is pushing it and the Rezound more. The more they delay it the better the Razr looks day by day

          • Anonymous

Absolutely! That was the impression I got. Motorola is VZW baby. I think this is the first Nexus VZW has ever sold which really corresponds as to why they are pushing the Moto and HTC gear.

          • http://www.facebook.com/tyson.bash Tyson Bash

I for one cant wait for a Moto Nexus phone, Fingers crossed for a quad core Nexus next year now that is something i would buy off contract in a heartbeat.

    • Anonymous

Do you think it was ICS that bogged it down or the phone?  Were the comparisons with CM7 on those other phones?

      Just curious…

      • Anonymous

CM7 was on the Thunderbolt and was overclocked which makes sense on why the score was so high. I think it might have been ICS related as to why it was bogged down. I think a simple fix from Google will solve those issues. One thing I did notice was a lot of tearing when Quandrant got to the planet portion. The other phones were 30+ FPS and the G-Nex couldnt even hold 15 FPS.

        • Anonymous

Thanks… hope 4.1 does fix it.

Of course, the resolution and pixel density on the Nexus are greater too.

          • Anonymous

Most definitely and it shows. I literally put it side by side with both the RAZR and the Rezound and it is noticable. My wife agreed….

      • Anonymous

ICS flies on my Nexus S, it is almost as smooth as my Galaxy Nexus HSPA+. I doubt it is ICS, more than likely the LTE chip.

    • Mikewoods94

I’ve had the gnex since 10am or so today and no heat issues here.

      • Anonymous

I think it was just a ploy to tell me “somthing” because they just don’t know. Good to know that it isn’t a heat issue.

        • Anonymous

Is wallet on your phone at all?

    • Anonymous

In all fairness, when was the last time Quadrant was updated? February 1, 2011. Is it really a still a good test of overall speed, and does it even necessarily work the correct way in ICS? A lot has changed from Gingerbread support to ICS support. I’m not trying to rip you apart for telling us all about the phone, but I think it’s important the people start actually using the phone rather than relying on a number from an app.

      • Anonymous

Oh, I completely agree with you on that. A lot of apps aren’t supported on ICS yet, so I would assume that it would have issues.

So Verizon is still getting the same number of activation without this phone and they “fooled” Google into an exclusive period to make sure no one else had it to overshadow their DRIOD line. So they are likely making more money sitting on the phone then selling it.

    • Anonymous

So, your contention is that because their activations have remained constant that somehow they are making more money by not selling a highly-anticipated product?

I’m not seeing your logic there.

      • Anonymous

They likely make more money per phone on Droid branded phones.  Not many are going to buy a RAZR once the Nexus is out, not because it is the better phone necessarily, but because for $300 people are going to want the latest Android.

        • Anonymous

Likely make more money on Droid-branded phones?  So, your logic is based on unfounded assumptions and assumes that Verizon won’t launch a new product because it will diminish demand for the previous new product?

I think you’re logic is tenuous, at best, completely false otherwise.

          • Anonymous

Logic often is.  Like I assume the car stopped at a red light isn’t going to decide to run it and hit me for the fun of it otherwise I would never be able to drive a car if I need scientific proof that I could make it safely through every intersection.  So get off yoru high horse.

Yes, I am guess, but it seems common sense that Verizon is compensated for pre-loaded bloatware.  Then there’s the join ad money with Moto.  So while I don’t have a Verizon ledger in front of me, I think it is sound logic at best and a bad guess at worse.

I think you should call one of the VZW corp stores and be like “Yeah I just picked up my new Galaxy Nexus and I was wondering how to get the ‘software update’ all the associates were referring to. I’ve had it for a few hours now but can’t seem to find the update?” It’ll confuse the sh** out of them.

They also may not have lost their exclusivity deal and will launch it on the 15th.

          • Dominick DeVito

Sorry, I posted that from my cell and was too lazy to log in. Let me explain further…

It was announced on 10/19 right? This thing was supposed to be a Verizon exclusive, right? well, on 10/27 that exclusive tag was removed – at this junction don’t you find that odd now?

Then on 11/15 VZW announced its return policy for Jan 9th (hmm, interesting eh?). It passes through the FCC on the same day, then it’s released in Europe two days later, on the same day AT&T quietly polls people to gauge interest (odd way of doing it if you ask me, I mean who wouldn’t want this phone right?).

This week it rolls through the FCC for AT&T (quietly)…

maybe they thought they’d be allowed to sell them, or perhaps it was Verizon who saw the huge uptick in interest and shipped them to stores…

          • Gerg04

Thanks again Mr know -it-all… Appreciate your knowledge…. Sike

          • Dominick DeVito

yeah we’ll see who’s crying in 6 days when it once again won’t be released.

the return policy is jan 9th don’t forget that.

          • Anonymous

You can’t base anything off the return policy.  GameStop extended their return policy until January even on used games – because it’s Christmas and most people won’t get the item until then.

          • Dominick DeVito

my guess isn’t solely based on the return policy, as (I believe) they’ve done this in the past. But something to think about.

I don’t know VZW well enough – but does anyone know a situation when a phone was shipped but not sold for a week or so? I find that odd.

          • Anonymous

It’s odd until you take into account the Google Wallet legal issue… which explains everything that is happening pretty well.

          • Dominick DeVito

I agree that GWallet may be causing this, but honestly, wouldn’t someone (somewhere) between VZW and Google have gone over this by now?

          • Anonymous

I think they’re still fighting about it, and you know how uncertain legal issues in court can be.

          • Dominick DeVito

Very true. But if this is all over GWallet – which is just an app – why would Google fight this to the point where it’s holding up their flagship phone? It’s not “pure” ICS anyway because of the VZW apps.

The whole situation’s f’d up. Whatever.

          • Anonymous

It was purportedly pure before the GWallet issue.  The VZ apps come installed, but can be removed.

Probably why Google is fighting it is that GWallet has the potential to be a lot of revenue for them… and if they miss this one chance to get into the NFC market, ISIS could end up with a huge advantage.

GWallet will be included in OTA update. It is trade off for the VZW apps installed on the ‘pure google os.’ Confirmed

          • Gerg04

I’m perfectly fine with my tbolt until this drops…. No. Crying here… Thanks again though for knowing everything

          • Dominick DeVito

ok..so move along then. A lot of folks like me have the OG (one guy as an Eris) and have been waiting a long time for a replacement.

And you know what – call me what you want, at this point, I’m just as accurate as anyone else on the internet so take that for what it’s worth

          • Alpha4005

stop whining about the OG droid. there are other people with LG Dare’s or EnV touch’s that are waiting for this phone and are a little worse off than people who are already droid capable…

          • Anonymous

Not the 9th. Get your facts straight.

            From here: http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/globalText?textName=RETURN_POLICY&jspName=footer/returnPolicy.jsp
Short version: “Purchases made between November 15 and December 28, 2011 may be returned or exchanged through January 15, 2012.”

          • Dominick DeVito

            thanks for the correction.

  • Waiting for the big “O”

Just like any other company, Verizon or Samsung or Google doesn’t give a F*ck about you or anyone else. It comes down to one thing THE MIGHTY DOLLAR. We can complain all we want about phones being postponed and about service and everything else but the bottom line is those companies will still be here when were long gone. We can change carriers all we want but nothing will change. Companies are like a revolving door. People will buy phones and open a new contract with them and people will cancel contracts. Bottom line is they are not going anywhere because of the stupid delays and the f*ck ups they keep causing. I haven’t seen one apology because of the delays on this phone from Verizon.  Yes I agree they are really F*cki*g things up but what can we do ?  complain on blogs and twitter and facebook and and to our parents and girlfriends and F W Benefits ETC ETC. I too have been waiting on this phone and keep my fingers crossed that is will be out soon. When it is released, It will be like having your first “O” ! remember how wonderful that was ! Sit back, hunker down, fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride. Man I feel better……….

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_JKSPAMGK4J5H7AHLLPGUW4ZPBU cantwait

    Yeah yeah yeah … right
Maybe i’ll spend my coin on the Transformer Prime instead and keep rockin’ the OG Droid … i’m sure there will be a port of ICS for the OG soon :)

Big Red has left a bad taste in my mouth with the G-Nex. I wish they would say something anything rather than being “Apple-esque” about it.

    • Stating El Obvious

Apple releases their products 2 weeks tops after announcement.

    • Stating El Obvious

nice. how do the favorites and actual contact pages look? are they hi-res pictures from Google+?

    • Anonymous

Does it allow you to send emails to a distribution list?  This is one of my current Peeves with Android.

      • Mikewoods94

I have it activesync to my exchange server and have always been able to…..or are you referring to a distro on your phone?

        • Anonymous

Basically the Gmail App – latest version running on Android 2.3.3.  When I type in a name, all contacts come up in the dropdown, but no distribution lists (groups).

If I use the Email app connected to Gmail instead of the actual Gmail App, I can use groups.  The fact that Gmail doesn’t have it boggles my mind.

15th is a Thursday so it would make sense.. what’s another week I guess.. :/

  • Jack Gunn

Makes sense for the 15th.  It’s a Thursday and as promised before years end.

    • Stating El Obvious

But so is the 16th-31st.  Thursday means nothing.

  • Anonymous

Yeah.  when the 15th comes around, they will say, 26th.  when the 26th comes around they will say the 3rd of January.  when that comes around, well you get the idea.

They are going to delay it as late as possible.
If Verizon wanted this phone out, it would have been out well before black friday. The delay is just going to cause people to pick up another phone.  If they wanted this phone to be their #1 seller, they would have released it as soon as possible.  Not keep delaying it.I hope to god that Verizon will never, ever, get the nexus again. The fucked it up. big time.  This was the phone I wanted to get for a good year, if not more. I essentially was waiting for my contract to be up.  That being said, I’m not even looking at an android phone because, well I have no idea when this phone will come out, the rate they are going, we will be here 1 year from now and still be waiting.

    • Anonymous

The rumors first started popping up in May. How did you want it before it was even conceived? There were obviously some issues with getting it released in November. But now that stores have them in stock, it should be released within a week unless there is some major recall. So just be patient or buy something else.

I know it’s frustrating that Verizon won’t give us a firm date but to be fair, they didn’t make or break any promises either. We’ve been relying on rumors for release dates and when the rumors turn out to be inaccurate, we still blame Verizon.

I would love to have a nexus today.. but alas it didn’t happen..  O well I just got off of the phone with a verizon rep who told me that the release has nothing to do with them.. Its all samsung and google who are delaying the phone.. come on really??? #VZWNEXUSFAIL  <—- trending on twitter NOW!

    #OCCUPYVERIZON

Samsung and Google won’t let us illegally block Google Wallet!!! It’s all their fault!!

  • Sporttster

This thing will release about the time I’m ready to replace my Razr…..in two years…..

The awesome thing about this whole debacle is that we can CAMP OUTSIDE Verizon stores and do OccupyVerizon and pass it off as just a “Nexus Fan Camp”

  • Anonymous

Verizon’s waiting until their “5 Day Samsung Sale” is over. Started today, they just want to make sure it’s over and done. Wouldn’t want to give the customers $100.00 off a new G-Nex, now would they?

    • Anonymous

What about the $100 off ANY 4G phone before the 25th?
