I've read up on NFC, lol, thank you. I do understand your point though, it's less of an issue with the Google wallet. Nevertheless, the dual-radio is actually not a gimmick for anyone who travels at all or lives in an area with no 4G. VoLTE is still being tested and won't be deployed until next year. Half of the population still has no 4G, so for those many people, I think they would prefer talk and surf over digital wallets, but who knows, maybe there will be a new Nexus from HTC again and it will have the best of all worlds.

NFC is a gimmick? Looks like someone has some reading to do...

You are right that anything is hack-able, but what is easier or more probable? Someone hacking your NFC device (20cm max range) or someone stealing your actual wallet or even just your credit card info?

NFC is a gimmick, I don't see many real world applications for it other than Google wallet, which makes me wonder how safe a wireless wallet really is. All I know is anything is hack-able, but a physical wallet is much more safe in my hands than on that is virtual. Nevertheless, it's all about choice, so enjoy your Galaxy Nexus, when ever that comes out.

You cannot compare an unlocked bootloader to a Nexus device. They are not even in the same game, let alone on the same field. Also, Beats is a gimmick. It's like those commercials that say, "order now, and we'll throw in...". I have to wonder why Verizon chose not to market dual radios at all in the HTC devices that have it? It will be irrelevant though, since VoLTE will allow simultaneous voice/data as well, and I believe that's still slated to launch next year.
Anyway, the Rezound is a fine device. Still not a Nexus, and likely won't have official ICS for some time. The lack of NFC was also a huge deciding factor for me, and I could really care less about an 8MP camera on a smartphone, another gimmick since 5 is totally adequate for 99.9% of users. Companies just know most consumers are stupid.

Haha, no problem. I like the feature as well, it makes it unique, we cannot just rely on 4G LTE's promise to cover the existing 3G footprint by the end of 2013 because until then, some people might like the option.

HTC Rezound has an unlocked bootloader. 4G LTE is not available everywhere and some people want to talk and surf at the same time. Android is all about choice. You cannot negate facts as useless just because you don't use them. That's the beauty of open source. Now, comparing the two head on, the Rezound has a higher megapixel rating, which wouldn't matter usually, but it also has a great sensor to back it up. The screen's pixel density is also much higher, it is upgradeable to ICS. While Beats audio is completely over priced and overrated, comparing the Droid Razr, the HTC Rezound, and the Galaxy Nexus, who wouldn't love free expensive headphones with their phone that already beats out the competition?

I hear ya but these issues that keep coming up with the G-Nex in the UK is killing me smalls. I was completely sold on the GN and now, not so much. I'll be damned to buy the Razr. Hands-on playing with the Rezound, it is better than I thought it would be (except the Sense about kills it for me...). In terms of order of updates, I'm sure the GNex will have dibs. However, this was NOT the case in the last go-around of google phones which updates were given priority not only to the nexus one but the VOLUMES of other android phones sold (Droid 1).

I respect your reasons for wanting the nexus, but the vast majority of users don't care about community rom support. They want a phone that looks good and works. I've had the incredible, thunderbolt and bionic. all worked fine for my needs, but all looked like boring bricks as does the rezound. to me the razr while maybe not at the very top spec wise, is still near the top and it has some style unlike most of the other android phones. I dont particularly care about ICS because my phone does what I need it to do. I understand your passion because I am that way with my cameras since I'm a photographer. To me the the RAZR is the best looking phone and despite what many non owners say, it is comfortable to hold. and it works flawlessly. so as a non geek consumer i voted with my wallet and bought the razr.

I am loving my RAZR as well! What is great? Well I have it and am using it. It is very light and thin so I do not notice in my pocket. I am still use to the thick bulky phone I had before. It has Flash support which I am now reading the Nexus won't have out of the gate. On the 4G network everything so fast. I showed it off to a co-worker and he remarked that he has seen personal home computers go slower loading up web pages and streaming video. Everything I have thrown at it concerning apps and video playback has just worked. I have yet to get any of the lockups the article last week was referring to. To me it seems like a small tablet computer with phone.
