Did anyone have problems with the radio? I cannot connect to 4glte with my TBolt. I am going to try the app called LTE On/Off….but did anyone else have problems? Do I just need to wait for 4g to “boot up”? As I was uploading this AndriodPolice (400mb) file onto my phone, I noted that my radio number was: r1.48.09.06w_1…is this a correct file or not?

Try putting it on a WiFi, then do the settings -> software update -> check new thing. I believe that should work.

sounds great but really I don’t want to root my phone. It would be nice to have vm notifications without rooting, otherwise what’s the point of waiting for “OFFICIAL RELEASE SOFTWARE”? Thanks for the info. though.

Teambamf has fixed the voicemail notification issue with the thunderbolt gingerbread.

They have step by step instructions how to root and install custom roms. They made it super easy, even for an idiot like me. They release fixes and patches all the time that are also simple to install and they are very very helpful with any questions you have. Blows crappy HTC and verizon support out of the water.

What about hotspot? I haven’t updated to the last update because it would have removed this unlimited free capability. Does the Gingerbread also remove this capability? Or will it leave it alone on my phone. And if not, is Gingerbread worth giving it up for?

I can finally post as one of the “rooted” guys! I waited to see if HTC would pull through with this update for gingerbread. I held off as my friends rooted their newer phones and updated quicker. Well HTC sucessfully managed to smash all my hopes with the brief yesterday, so I have finally rooted and am running BAMF forever 1.0.6 which is rooted 2.3.4 with sense 3.0 and it runs just as smooth as my coworkers HTC Sensation! Check out the TeamBAMF rooting instructions….they are extremely simple, the entire process is automated EXCEPT for making the root permanent, which is just flashing a file in the temp boot loader

Kellex, it looks like the update has been pulled by VZW. http://support.verizonwireless.com/pdf/system_update/thunderbolt.pdf This is now back to the OLD froyo Page… and people are reporting that they can’t get the update any longer.

Seems the verizon site still says coming soon. I’m on 2.11.605.0 and i hit the Check New option and it’s not finding any new updates at this time.

Anyone here have the phone, upgraded to another phone, but trying to update? I can’t access the update servers after the phone became deactivated. (been checking since I upgraded to another phone)

After I see the following error message:
“Error
SERVICE UNAVAILABLE
Check for Software Update under Settings when service is available”

I have airplane mode off, WiFi on. Stock, no root.
Stock TB, no root.
