5th core for power saving. I’ll believe it when I see it. Dual cores were suppose to save on battery (looked good on paper)…well they don’t, they actually eat through battery faster in real world use.

I have seen android phones boot and have lag just on their launcher. There are some phones that out of the box their launchers will lag, let along putting all of that other software on it.

Just because manufacturers are trying to flood the market with phones doesn’t give them the right to have laggy phones filled with bugs not receiving updates.

Yeah well needing to use a custom rom just to get a dual core to run smooth still doesn’t say much about android and the OEM’s. The phone should be lag free out of the box. That is where the iphone and wp7 has android beat and the one area google needs to work on.

Explain to me why I can make a PC, Mac, Android phone and tablet, iPhone and iPad all lag? Because I am capable of running more software than the hardware can handle. There is a balance between optimizing the hardware and the software and I will give it to Apple that they have the upper hand in this because they only have 2 (3 models tops) that they need to optimize for their software. On the other hand, you are stuck with those models and only 1 is current gen.

All of this is to say, your example is null! It is not software or hardware, it is both!

I just got a $827.89 iPad2 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HTV for only $251.92, they are both coming tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prîces at places like Walmart or Bestbuy. I sold a 37″ HTV to my boss for $600 that I only paid $78.24 for.
