I am in the exact same position. Original Droid 1 owner and STILL waiting for a viable upgrade. I was about two clicks away from canceling my VZW account to go to Sprint (who was offering me a 137.00usd credit for each device I brought over from my family plan!).

I decided to give VZW one last Google for “new smartphones for verizon” and the Prime popped up…they had better follow through on this.

Me! Me! Me! I just recently water damaged my Droid2 (a warranty replacement for my OG Droid), and I’m stuck using a crappy-assed Storm. I have been waiting on the Bionic since January, and it looks like it won’t we worth the wait. But I will make do with this p.o.s. until October and save my upgrade! PLEASE don’t screw this up, VZW.

I’m currently on the OG Droid and I will definitely get the Nexus Prime if it comes to Verizon.

I’m wondering if anyone could answer a question of whether I’m eligible for an upgrade (or will be by October).

I last upgraded in January 2010, from one feature phone to another. This March, I transfered my line to the OG Droid that my dad had we he upgraded to the Droid 2.

I just p a i d $21.87 for an i P a d 2-64GB and my boyfriend loves his Panasonîc Lumîx GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS.I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $657 which only cost me $62.81 to buy.

You can put vanilla on almost any phone. The best thing I ever did was upgrade from my OG Droid to a used Fascinate. Even though its a low end phone, its 1/2 as thin and 4x as fast as the original droid. It will hold me over until a nexus. The roms available based on touchwiz are actually fantastic, and I prefer them over vanilla roms. They strip out all the junk, and leave the good stuff like the keyboard and notification stuff. Using Superclean 2.9 and love it. The OG Droid was awesome when it came out, but now it’s simply frustrating. If you have a few extra bucks, try something new, no matter what people say. You will be much happier than with a OG Droid.

I guess I’m lucky, I’m grandfathered in on the unlimited for now anyways, but still, how many go over the 2 gigs a month? I used internet every day for 8-10 hrs solid a day and haven’t hit 2 gigs yet.
