my phone runs like crap with this keyboard installed! i like it so much better than swype when i can get it to work……anyone have any ideas? i have a droix by the way!

Does anyone know how to remove words from the dictionary on the flext9? I can not figure it out for the life of me! I am also enjoying this keyboard more than swype simply because I have the ability to type with auto-correction and trace words without having to switch keyboards. Droid X

In the permissions it says that this app can record and report anything that is typed with it, including passwords and credit card numbers…no thanks…

Update! Found Keyboard Manager and am now happily using FlexT9 Keyboard in Portrait and Multi-touch Keyboard in Landscape. Very happy with this little tool that should just be default in Android.

It is at least as good if not better than Swype, but like Swype, it does absolutely nothing when I switch to the hardware keyboard on my Droid2G, whereas the default Multi-touch keyboard provides spell checking and word suggestion for physical as well. I sure wish I could select different input methods based on soft or physical keyboard. I may have to look into the different keyboard for vertical or horizontal hack that I remember reading about some time ago. Anybody else remember that?

It does for me on my Xoom…It doesn’t move the cursor over until you type the next word, but it’s just like Swype. Just type the 1st word and go straight to the next word and it automatically inserts a space.

Yeah, it doesn’t do that so that’s a fail right there. But it should be easy enough for them to fix. Swype automatically enters a space after you’re done sliding your finger along to make a word.

With Swype, when you slide your finger to “type” a word and then lift off, it is smart enough to know you are done with that word and want to continue entering a new word, so it adds a space. The swype feature of FlexT9 doesn’t do that. It thinks you want the second word to be part of the first word you typed.

Plus, I was hoping that the T9 part of the app’s name was going to include a compact querty T9 keyboard alternative, similar to the SureType layout on the BlackBerry Storm. Unfortunately, it does not.

I’ll stick to Swype and SwiftKey, but will keep an eye on FlexT9 for any future improvements..

tried it before and returned it because it doesnt have a t9 trace option that i could find ( using the number pad). other then that it worked great i just wont use anything other then t9 for texting
