im running the full stock no root because i had thought i would be able to recieve the update when it was pushed, that isnt the case i keep gettin a message saying my device is up to date… anyway i dont mind stayin on this build I just want to get root back, is it possible with this build? if not, how would i flash another build on with out root access?

I can’t pull the update and i did the full stock no root. Now i cant root it, not really wanting to SBF since i will lose most of what i have on phone… doesn’t this suck.

I am new to this … I am on .588 and would like to be on .595 so that I can get .596 from Verizon.
Can you please elaborate on:2. Boot into recovery using the Bootstrap.3. Install the zip through Clockwork Recovery.Do I need any other software to perform step 2 and 3 you mentioned in your post?Last time, I went to .588 by copying the update.zip to sd card and then turned on the phone by holding the “home” key and then press “search” key once the triangle (with !) appeared. I tried the same thing this time but it’s stuck on triangle (with !) and nothing is happening when I press the ‘search’ key.
Sorry for my ignorance.

Try a battery pull, reboot into recovery and clear cache and wipe data/ factory reset. That usually takes care of that.

Rooted with z4root, booted into recovery tried to install the zip file (Full Stock) – and it failed. Now I’m stuck at the M logo. Am I bricked?
