Sadly, I agree that stock browser seems to work better than all these alternatives.

I used Dolphin for a few weeks and I liked the interface for the most part, but it was way too heavy to actually use on a phone. If someone could just give me the stock browser but with real tabs my browsing life would be complete. I might give it a shot again anyhow, as last time I tried it I was on stock 2.1, now on rubix focused. Maybe it will be usable now.

Meh. I used to use Dolphin as my main browser, but since installing Skyfire, I've never gone back. Dolphin is still better than the stock browser, in my opinion, but I was never really a fan of stock as it is lol.

I'm a big Dolphin fan, mostly because of the gestures feature. It's handy enough for me to be able to draw a letter (or whatever) to bring up any particular bookmark that I cut it some slack in the speed department.

If I can start going to a site in under 2 seconds using the gesture feature, as opposed to spending several seconds scrolling around through the massive list of bookmarks I have, then that more than makes up for the slightly slower load time.
Besides, I just recently made the jump to a Droid X from a Blackberry Storm 2, so the browsing still seems super fast to me

I've used Dolphin, SkyFire, xScope, Opera and HTC's stock browser, of course, on my Incredible. I have a problem with the stock browser because you can't close it, except by backing out through all previously viewed pages from that session. Opera just takes up too much screen realestate. SkyFire and I just didn't click. Dolphin was my favorite for a while, but after an update some months ago it became slow and I went back to stock.

xScope 6 is by far my current favorite, though. It's fast. And I like the fact that I can hide the toolbar at the bottom as well as both the notification bar and address bar at the top. I get more content space that way. And bookmarks, history, downloads and a file manager are easily found in the pop-up toolbar in the toolbar at the bottom.

Dophin is very good - and so far, more Firefox-like than the Mozilla beta. But xScope simply works better for me.

I use the stock browser for most, but if it involves video I always default to Skyfire. every browser should have an option to easily switch from the mobile version to desktop version of the page. A lot of video sites won't work at all in the stock browser. Like Vevo.com for example. Other sites want money to watch the mobile version, but work perfectly free in Skyfire.

I had been the same way but lately the stock browser has been having problems with some pages and links. Also it is a lot easier to manage your downloads, or download files period with Dolphin over the stock browser. This is just my personal experience over the past few weeks.

Not a fan of Dolphin HD, tries to do too much stuff at once. I like that on my super fast laptop, not on my 3.7″ screen. I do really love standard Dolphin (Non-HD) version. Use it all the time.

I agree. I do the same thing especially if a document is password protected or something strange. Other than that, I am happy with stock. I am not nearly as demanding I guess on my phone as I am on my desktop.
