I don't get how custom roms are being made so quickly. Wasn't that bootloader supposed to give a lot of trouble? Is the rooting and recovery on the D2 the same as the original droid?

Well this is a start I guess, now all I need is a vanilla ROM so I can finally activate this P.O.S….. Dinc is so much better but hopefully without Blur it will help this phone out a lot.

How far away are custom kernels? I am holding onto my D1 until I know for certain that the X or D2 can have the same type of freedom I have to load ROMS and kernels. Anyone know how far away the D2 and X are from custom kernels that permit overclocking?

A rom doesn't mean it has a custom kernel. If the bootloader is never cracked you are saying theere will never be a custom rom.

It is not technically a ROM because it does not contain a kernel at least one that can be flashed to the phone. Unless someone has cracked the bootloader for the new motorola phones.
