It's quite simple.

The biggest sham/con/myth/fraud going right now is that these ROM developers are doing ACTUAL development.

They create NOTHING! They build AOSP which is EASY and they theme it and add in some extra goodies.

BIG FLIPPING DEAL.

People are impressed because they don't understand what is involved.

The only ROM that actually contains any substantial changes from stock is CYANOGENMOD.

Period.

Please stop praising these snake oil salesmen.
