Can anyone explain how to do this non-rooted? I attempted on an EVO shift and all the files transferred over to the phone but the reboot is still the same. Does sdk need to be installed on the phone too? Anything will help

Im having a problem with this. I have done all of the steps but after the classic M symbol comes on after i reboot it, it is just a blank black screen until it goes to the droid main screen. I am using a droid x with froyo with latest updates, SDK and ADB both installed. Maybe i should break down and buy the root explorer. please help me out. Im new at this and am very interested in getting into it. thanks in advance.

success do the flashing to Motorola Milestone Non-Rooted

different way - using windows XP-2,

before do this make sure.. go to Motorola milestone.

1. home bottom--> settings--> Applications-->Development-->tick USB debuging
2. connect your device to PC.
3. wait the pc perform QC to your USB system.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Open up your Android SDK folder
2. Download the bootanimation.zip above to your PC and drop it in your SDKtools folder.
3. In your SDK tools folder, hold SHIFT and right click in a blank area.

for some reason i cannot do this performance..
solution..
in PC..
go to Start-->run--> type--> CMD
you will prompt to cmd browser.

from know on dir your system up till to dir of folder SDK: this mine:

C:Documents and SettingsDonald TambunanDesktopSDKtools>adb push bootanimati
on.zip /data/local
* daemon not running. starting it now *
* daemon started successfully *
error: device offline

C:Documents and SettingsDonald TambunanDesktopSDKtools>adb push bootanimati
on.zip /data/local
1321 KB/s (0 bytes in 6259932.004s)

this error will come out if you not correctly perform:
home bottom--> settings--> Applications-->Development-->tick USB debuging
* daemon not running. starting it now *
* daemon started successfully *
error: device offline

4. Select “Open command window here.”
5. Type the following command:

adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local
