That is why they MUST have it on ALL THE FOUR MAJOR CARRIERS…meaning what ever the holdup is as to why Tmo is not yet on-board, they both have to work it out pronto. The outed specs are top notch but hope they don’t skimp on the others like bigger removable batteries, internal storage options 32/64GB, and an SD card slot. Let’s hope the HTC team will spec this device in a way that it will be difficult to have any excuse to pass on it. No redo of the One X debacle, and an aggressive sales campaign is a must. Boy will a choice of Vanilla Android or Android with sense 5 at boot up be the Hail Mary HTC needs to stick it to Sammy and the other up and comers OEMs. But we know Sammy will not fail to deliver with the upcoming GS4…so lets hope HTC has other stuff up its sleeve. Good Luck HTC, as an avid fan… i am rooting for you.

Agreed. Verizon would have helped HTC out tremendously by carrying any of the One series, which in turn would have avoided the Incredible 4G debacle altogether. Aside from the DNA and the 8X in the 11th hour, Verizon and HTC was a terrible pairing in 2012.

I’ll echo the idea in the article, but build on it; the reason it is being released on Verizon right after the DNA is to avoid fragmenting across carriers again. Yes, Verizon has the DNA, but the other carriers don’t. The other carriers have the One series, but Verizon doesn’t. This is HTC shoring up one of their critical failures from 2012. Some of the pieces seem odd, but looking at the bigger picture it makes all kinds of sense. Couple that with continuing to be the lone source for 1080p screens and they have a shot to snag some shoppers that are too impatient to wait for the next goliath from Samsung to arrive. If HTC doesn’t turn things around, at least they can say they went down swinging.

Probably won’t be, I mean they didn’t with the OneX and DNA so I have a feeling it will just be internal. At least it’s 32 GB. I really would want 64 GB if I’m not going to have expandable storage.

I would hope it is 32 GB at the minimum. If they made a 64 GB capacity with no microSD card I wouldn’t be complaining.

Also, i read a rumor that this was suppose to be a windows phone, and that’s why the buttons were placed differently. And will these phones be catered to specific carriers, like will Verizon make this only available with 16 gb of storage and will each carrier have different features?.

It impacts the widgets you’re able to install, for starters. That’s the main reason I dumped Sense on my Incredible… they flat-out didn’t implement certain features of the OS and it restricts the apps you can use.

Really HTC just needs to get rid of the damn physical buttons entirely, but if they’re going to switch them around with every new phone, that goes against every principle of user friendliness and brand identity…

I don’t think it’s a bad phone. I think that HTC purposefully skimped on the battery size and storage so the M7 can be “better.” It will be telling if the DNA doesnt instantly get Sense 5 soon after release.
