Then you would use the browser, download gapps, wipe, flash said gapps, and download a file browser. Or you could just revert to your nandroid backup of the previous ROM like most normal folks.

I just don’t trust restoring data at all. Non system or otherwise. Logging into the apps manually always seems to give me hella better performance than even just restoring data to one or two apps (like tapa or tweetlanes).

Currently running the latest BB and restored data to my social apps. Mega lag. Reflashed, and logged into those apps manually…no issues.

Sure, it could be any number of things, but messing around with restoring data has always led to random issues for me.

And App2Zip doesn’t backup the app data either right? I had tried it once and uninstalled instantly. Back to Titanium backup it is. And even I did a device id restore. I’m not seeing two devices in my Google account.

Question for VZW SGS3 Owners: What CWMR version does ROM Manager flash? 6.0.1.0 kexec? If not, ROM Manager isn’t useful for those of us trying to run CM10 on our VZW GS3s.

Of course not…but it does indeed make things much easier.

(At least, with the zip-queuing available with Premium)

You can set backup of your existing ROM, wiping, ROM install, GAPPS install and titanium restore up to all execute in one step without ever having to monkey around in recovery to manually do anything.

Last I checked, this was not compatible with Jelly Bean in that it does not back-up many apps that are now no longer installing to /data/app.

I tested this recently and it could not back up Franco’s Kernel updater.

Even so, this works very well for me as I have it. I have a device that I don’t use much running ICS…so whenever I add a new app it’s as simple as installing it on that device, and adding the apk to my existing “app” zipfile.

Which brings us to my Question of the Day:

Does the “Restore ROM Manager” feature also restore your premium features?

Oh, I’ve had premium since my first couple days of flashing, so that’s definitely not a problem. (me remembering to install the premium license key can be sometimes though) >.>

Currently $5.99, but well worth it in terms of making the whole ordeal of flashing/restoring easier. That, combined with the new recovery’s method of backup saves a *ton* of space and time.
