Yeah. Although Thunderbolt should be getting ICS it would be a phone of the not so distance past. And something still worth holding onto until you get a upgrade or catch a good bid on ebay for a rezound or razor. ICS update is the only thing keeping the thunderbolt in good standings with owners of them(as myself).

That’s with the stock battery, I don’t use my phone a lot, and when I do, I have the brightness set fairly low.

The Verizon GNex had way worse battery life than the TB. I got my TB two weeks after it came out and was lucky to get 6-7hrs on the stock battery.
My dad was lucky to get 3-4 on the Gnex’s stock battery when he got it in January, before i rooted it in May, then got the 3800 Seidio battery a month ago.

Custom ROMs completely fixed my battery life on the TB. I got the 2750mAh battery the same day I got my phone last year, but used the stock battery for the first week before opening the extended. It was pitiful. And even then, the extended used to only get me through a day, now it can easily get me through 2. It would be amazing if the devs are able to release a jelly bean rom for the Thunderbolt due to a stable ICS release.

then users would just have to wait even longer. Getting a solid ICS release out first will likely help the JB release go faster anyway IF they decide to upgrade to jelly bean

Due to battery and reboot issues, it wasnt until I finally put Gingerbread on my TB a year ago that all my problems were gone and I was extremely happy. My first 3 months with the phone = lots of headaches. Now its super solid and I am glad I didnt end up with a Droid Charge, LG Revolution, or Bionic. Once I have ICS on it, that should help me get enough life out of it to last until the next Nexus or early next year.

it probably will, and why shouldnt it? Afterall, the Thunderbolt came out nearly 6 months before the Bionic. The Bionic was like the most poorly released phone last year. I almost didnt buy my Thunderbolt in April because everyone was saying the Bionic would be out in May. I am glad I didn’t wait.

Just for kicks, I was in a Verizon store yesterday and decided to ask a rep if he knew if the ICS update would be out for the Thunderbolt this month. I didn’t expect him to know or even be correct at all, but basically he was like “I wouldn’t count on it..” but in my head I was smiling because I knew he really had no clue. Oh well. Cant wait until it does come out. The TB community on XDA has been pretty stagnant for the past few months, it would be super nice to see this update liven things up again for a few weeks.

Not impossible. I alternate between Skyraider Zeus and BAMF Forever ROMS on my Tbolt and get better battery life than my wife’s Razr (stock not rooted). I get two days easy on light usage and right about 20 hours with heavy use.
